  1. Improvements, improvements everywhere… meaning the bugs are still there and crashes can also happen. Rockstar is shameless.

  2. This is why with games you either

    Pirate

Or buy at least 6 months down the line when it’s patched (and at a lower price)

    1. FOMO, is the destruction of the industry. More like i wait 1-2 years, THEN it’s patched up. I have no need to pay to be a beta Tester. Cause after i finish the campaign and do a couple side mission i’m moving the hell on. Therefor, not in my best interest to buy a unfinished product. This industry would be better off if gamers would stop buying games at launch. But THAT AIN’T NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. Because “i have to have the latest and greatest game. If I don’t buy RDR 2 or One of Ubisofts filth at Launch then i’m not a REAL PERSON and my life will suck; I might even IMPLODE”. <--- This is the MInd SET!

    2. Its funny you say that. RDR 2 (PC) is a game that came out more than 12 months ago on consoles and is still priced the same as the console version at release and has bugs that were present on the launch versions on consoles.

Life Lesson: Some developers/publishers are just shameless. They delayed the game that they made simultaneously with the console versions just so that they can make impatient people buy it twice and I am guilty of being caught into their FOMO trap as well.

      1. It’s already 25% off on the sweeney store. Looks like rockstar isn’t selling the product so good after all.

    3. Depends on game.
Single player games are patched up after 1 year, might get some more patches, though few afterwards.
Live service games (a la Ubisoft) get patched for 3 years.
Always online games, a la looters shooters (Destiny, Anthem, Division, Borderlands 3), at least 2 years for an up to snuff product.

  3. Waiting anxiously for the Gold version of RDR 2 (PC) finally releasing in December on Steam. Thanks again to the hard working Beta testers who are enduring bugs and issues so that the Steam users can get the best version possible on release.

      1. “Steam + Rockstar Games Laucher” is still better than “Rockstar Games Launcher Only”.

        Steam = Good = +1
        Rockstar Games Launcher = Neutral = 0
        Epic Games Store = Bad = -1

        1 + 0 > 0 (Steam + RGL > RGL)
        0 > 0 – 1 (RGL > RGL + EGS)

          1. That’s not.

I had to update the RGL for GTA V so finally, i’ve decided to buy the RGL version instead of the Steam one (basically RGL+Steam layer)

For a DRM free GOG version, i would have waited

    1. The only issue i had, at the beginning, is DX12.

Not really a problem at all because Vulkan has offered better performance on my pc.

I’m playing the RGL version, i’ve spent around 75hrs already and i clearly don’t see any superior interest on the “Steam version” (basically the RGL version+Steam launcher)

    2. I have 100+ hours in the Gold version of RDR2. Anyone waiting for the Steam version will be playing yesterdays pc news.

  4. So it seems like they fixed most of the issues, nice! I believe its going to be pretty smooth when its ready for steam

  5. There are nice settings in INI file, like Async Compute (it’s disabled in default)
There is also setting for snow… which makes look him more shiny, icy-like looking which enabled from the start, and you can disable that.
With those things tweaked +10-15fps for free on RX580 in RD: Online

    1. You got lucky with a certain hardware/software combination. Do you think this is grounds for dismissing other people who bought this rushed port and can’t run it properly on their machines? Explain in detail.
