Rockstar has released a brand new update for Red Dead Redemption 2 on all platforms. According to the release notes, the January 21st update adds new content to the base game and to Red Dead Online.
Going into more details, this latest patch adds new Permanent Clothing items to the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue. It also adds five new Emotes and a new Hideout to Red Dead Online.
Unfortunately, this content update does not come with any bug fixes or stability improvements. As such, don’t expect to be running the game faster/better after applying this patch.
As always, Steam, Epic Games Store and Rockstar’s Launcher will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

thats what I’m doing nextt ime, same with bethesda’s I can’t stand all these fawking updates just because they wanna shove new mtx into sh*t. 7.62gb, when I don’t even fawking play it online and couldn’t care less about online. now I’ll have to redo my visual setting config all over again to boot. like after every single other patch. idk if I even wanna play again right now after that sh*t. That’s a restart or two and about 5 minutes of trying to remember where each fawking optiona nd slider was set, longer if I wanna not risk being incorrect and having to pull out the wordpad file I made detailing the settings later if I happen to drop below 60 and realize I got something wrong. annoying as fawk when it doesn’t need to happen if I don’t even play online and they’re not adding anything to single-player or fixing anything ins ingle-player. a crack would just fawking work, and not give me this annoyance.

Nobody said you need to buy the new items added. And if you have the time and interest, you can earn the gold in-game to buy everything on offer. Everything.
I bought the Outlaw Passes, all four character roles, a “gold only” horse, and changed my favorite group of active weapons to gold hardware using nothing but gold and RDO$ earned in-game. In under 60 days. All it takes is completing at least one daily challenge each 24 hours.
The content is amazingly free, you’re only upset because you have to pay for your impatience.

Content upgrades are in large part how stability upgrades are paid for. If there wasn’t money to be made in improving the content, they wouldn’t bother working on the core. One is almost never fully prioritized over the other and should not be.
Anyone over about 12 years old knows that this is how it is, and this is how it’s pretty much always been in the software world. Otherwise, we’d all be enjoying the rich goodness of a fully stable Windows 1.0 or some garbage like that.
I am happy they’re continuing to develop for this when they could have easily assigned these programmers to RD3 instead.
But please feel free to keep whining about free content additions, it’s your right, and we wouldn’t want anyone to forget how smart and entitled you are.

I did not get an update nor do I see anything even being mentioned about an update on Steam. Hell when I google this supposed update its only this site and one from UK even mentioning it and that UK site says it was an update for XBOX and no mention of PC at all.
