PREY – Free trial will be available later today

Bethesda has announced that a free trial for PREY will be available in a few hours. According to the press release, and starting today, the critically acclaimed game from Arkane Studios will be available as a PC trial for the first-time ever. Bethesda did not reveal how many levels will be available or for how long PC gamers will be able to play this free trial.

In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong. The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted. As you dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, you must survive using the tools found on the station — your wits, weapons, and mind-bending abilities. The fate of the Talos I and everyone aboard is in your hands.

PREY is a pretty interesting game that is powered by CRYENGINE. Thankfully, and despite some minor optimization issues, this title runs great on a variety of PC configurations. You can read our PC Performance Analysis here.

Bethesda has also released a new trailer dedicated to the game’s free trial that can be viewed below!

    1. I prefered this one over the original but it’s a personnal taste. It’s a good game. With all the updates they’ve done it has become something most have to play i my opinion. Good story/gameplay mechanics.

      1. I agree 100% the new one is amazing, I do love the old one too though.

Really you can’t compare the two, they are two totally different games that share the same name.

The new Prey is a must have in my opinion.

        1. Didnt sell cuz ken levine and peter molyneux did not hype it, might want to add up a bit of todd howard while we are at it. It is one of the best games in a while, closest thing to system shock and system shock 3 is coming by the man himself warren spector.

          1. Exactly ^^^^ this, I totally agree.

After playing the new Prey I am super juiced up for System Shock 3, can’t wait.

    2. -Purchase justifiers, please dont hate me for not liking what you like but I am about to give my opinion:-

I bought this game when it released, it is the first and so far the only game I have ever refunded. The enemy AI felt like a choire to fight, the environment was drab and the story was boring.

Actually, I dont care weather you hate me or not 😀 Treat me to some classy replies..

      1. Well i wont comment on the story, it was fun for a while with all the plot twists and mind games but the ai can be summed up as prophunt. But hey if you prefer another shooter…..

        1. I prefer lots of other shooters. And no I dont like COD before anyone asks or leaves the “go play more COD comment”.

      2. Well, it takes some time before things get going in Prey. But once you have more neuromods to adjust to your playstyle it becomes fun. You can actually accomplish most objectives in very different ways.

Though I’d admit it has few weapons.

  1. FREE trial ? It must have sold like sht then! Sorry I want white sexy people or no buy. I dont like asian as they all look the same.

Bethesda will not release a PC demo for PREY*
*Except if sales are deemed to be sh #t 6 months down the line.

I was 2 months overly optimistic , it must have sold like worse than sh #t

  3. 360,000 steam owners according to steamspy
this game tanked.. and rightfully so, it’s dull and the “enemy interactions” are laughable

to call it an Arkane product is an insult
