Playstation 4 Remote Play Is Officially Coming To PC & Mac

Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment, revealed today that Sony is working on an official Playstation 4 Remote Play application for PC and Mac. Shuhei did not reveal anything more than that, however we believe that Sony saw the great potential of such an application after every gaming outlet focusing on the unofficial one that has been under development for quite some time.

It will be interesting to see whether Sony will send a C&D letter to YouTube’s ‘twisted0ne1989’ who has been working for the past 6-7 months on his unofficial PS4 Remote Play application for the PC.

Two weeks ago, twisted0ne1989 shared a video showing the input lag that is currently present in his application.

    1. i read it multiple times i dont get it either.

Its like TB said on xbone “why would you want to stream an inferior hardware on a superior hardware?”

      1. I see your point. But let’s say i’m on my pc and don’t feel like powering up the ps4 and play on the big screen tv ? Stay where i am and remote play that mufuka 😉

        1. Uhh … don’t you need the ps4 to be on before you can use remote play? I’m not sure with this but that’s how “remote” works

          1. It don’t have WOL? That seems like a very natural thing to have on the system if you can use it for remote play.

          2. Well, i wouldn’t bet on that app having WoL. From what i remember, the official ps4 app on iphone didn’t have WoL (not talking about standby mode). But yea if it had WoL it would be great.

  1. I’d say Sony are worried that more people will create their own streaming apps if they don’t release a legit app… they know this would eventually find a jailbreak exploit and then all kinds of bs cat n mouse games would start up.. I’m sure Sony would rather avoid all that for as long as they can. They lost a lot of love for how they reacted over the ps3’s jailbreak and removal of Linux all that time ago.

  2. Now we can stream the PS4 to the PC and use the Steam link to stream the stream to a TV. Then stream the whole mess to Twitch and go full circle.

  3. so instead of turning on my HDTV i can just sit at my computer desk and play any PS4 game on my monitor.. that’s nice.. but it’s just mirroring the console. we still want other options as well like higher resolution/frame rate and graphics setting. i doubt that will ever happen lol…

  4. Feel sorry for the guy that was gonna charge $10 for downloading his app. I hope they implement Mouse + KB Support and 360 support too with key binding
