Platforms revealed for IO Interactive’s fantasy game, Project Dragon

Project Dragon is a new online fantasy RPG from IO Interactive, the makers of the Hitman series. And, thanks to emails published by the FTC Discovery, we finally know the platforms on which this new game will come out.

Now contrary to the James Bond game (which has TBD for its platforms), we can clearly see that Project Dragon will be exclusive to Microsoft. This means that it will release on both PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Although we don’t know much about this game, here’s what IO Interactive had to say about it when it officially revealed it.

“Now we are sharing with all of you, that we are embarking on a new adventure! One that expands our creativity, our capabilities, and in some sense our identity. We are building a new world, a new IP – an online fantasy RPG. A world and a game built from the core to entertain players and expand for many years to come. It feels familiar, yet at the same time IOI is going on a journey unlike any we have been on before.”

Sooooooooooo, this sounds like a GaaS RPG game? I mean, how else would they expand it for years? The fact that it’s also an online game hints at a Games As A Service game.

IO Interactive has not shared any screenshots or trailers for this game as of yet. The only thing we have is this concept art. I don’t believe this concept art hints at a cartoony visual style. Still, we should keep our expectations in check, especially after what happened with Avowed.

Stay tuned for more!
