Microsoft Is “Really Looking at” Streaming from PC to Xbox One

I think it is safe to say that as PC gamers we did not expect much when Phil Spencer announced earlier this year that Microsoft had big plans for PC gaming. After the Windows 10 event yesterday the general consensus has remained pretty much unchanged. Where was the focus on PC gaming?

Today during a group interview at Xbox’s Head Phil Spencer said,

“People ask about the streaming in the opposite direction–can I stream from my PC to my Xbox?–and I’ll just say it’s something that we’re really looking at,”

As of now though, Microsoft has no plans to offer Streaming from PC to the Xbox One.

Microsoft has as of right now missed the opportunity to bring a new audience to Xbox One. A lot of PC gamers are not interested in the Xbox One, let alone streaming it to their desktop. Even if Microsoft’s intentions are to stream to laptops so that you can take Xbox gaming to other rooms this still does not appeal to PC gamers as we already have Steam In-Home Streaming and Nvidia owners have the shield.

As far as PC gaming is concerned, Microsoft really didn’t have anything to say at their Windows 10 event.

  1. To ignore this would be a dumb mistake on Microsoft’s part.

If they want additional XBone sales….allow users to put a proxy station in their living room! At least then players might actually get to experience >=60FPS @ 1080P from the XBone.

    1. Yeah every time I tuned in it seemed like everyone fell off to sleep, that crowd wasn’t very positive nor negative all they cared about was getting the first post on their blogs

  2. F*ck sake, it’s all about XBox and shoving that across to PC users than actual PC games. They want to get more Xbox sales via the streaming from XBox One so that you go buy one LOL

Too late, Steam can stream our games across a network to another PC or laptop for free

    1. they want pc players to pay for xbox one exclusives.thats what it feals like to me. im kind of mad about this why buy an xbox one.STUPID move

  3. Soooo, I have to buy a sh***y console to play sh***y console games, in sh***y framerate and quality, in my Master Race Machine? Not a chance m8.
(Just to be clear, I would love to play the whole Halo series on my PC, but, only if they are running at steady 60 fps and at least at 1080p)

  4. Sorry microsoft…if i have to buy a sh*t consol like xbox one just for play exclusive game on xbox one and just streaming is not worth it…because we pc gamers love high resolution not 720p or 900p and that was streaming only…not a chance….what we want your game on the windows 10 ecosistem so we who do not have xbox one can buy exlusive game on xbox one.. …or maybe this decision is because microsoft can’t make a decent port to the PC…such a shame….

  5. “it’s something that we’re really looking at”
how stupid that man is ? why should anybody streams already sub HD and sub30fps game with tons of lag to his/her PC ?

  6. I don’t need whiny 12 year olds arguing that they can play PC games on their Xbox period and that they are this PC master race and another clickbait article from PCGamer

Seriously MS you dropped the ball on the 21st big time -_-

Can see the end year “we still care for PC gamers spew they love saying”

  7. Well if Xbox One and PC will share same operating system it’s just a matter of time for hackers and devs to create a nice XONE Emulator, but I’d rather pay monthly fee and play and XBOX game on PC … Forza series is worth it

  8. Since Xbox One isn’t capable of anything as a gaming platform, now it’ll be a streaming platform. Problem is, who will buy it to for streaming?

  9. if i can play pc games one xbox one the great idea.why would i buy a
xbox one at all if i can play the exclusives on pc..they may have just
cost themselves sales because xbox one exclusives were the only reason
to get an xbox id rather get a ps4 and up grade my pc now..dumb move i
think.unless i can play pc games on xbox one.this could really hurt them in the long run from a sales prespective.people get consoles or pc because that what their friends are on. I WOULD NEVER get an xbox one if i could play those exclusives on pc..
