New Just Cause 4 patch brings stability improvements, adds support for different refresh rates

Avalanche Studios has released a brand new patch for Just Cause 4. This second PC patch is 2.9GB in size and focuses on fixing the most common crashes PC users were experiencing. As such, this update brings major stability improvements and packs a rendering fix when disabling Ambient Occlusion Graphics option.

Furthermore, this patch makes some adjustments to the skystriker weaponized wingsuit control, fixes improper “skip button” hint on a remapped keyboard, updates map to include some missing collectible icons and adds support to different monitor refresh rates.

As always, Steam will auto-downloaded this patch the next time you launch its client and you can find its complete changelog below.

    1. You think they could just lift their water form Just Cause 2 and call it a day, is their own game engine really incompatible? I doubt it and it’s more like they just don’t give a sh|t or it’s no a priority/worth it to produce more sales/$

The absence of the FOV slider blows my mind, it take like a day to add for the PC(it be low hanging fruit) yet it is probably not even on their list which sucks 🙁

  1. John you’re giving them too much credit. Nothing has been fixed for two months and people even crash at the loading screen now. Some have lost their savegames too because the monkeys at Avalanche are 16 year old interns who can only port assets from JC3. Atleast they hired a person who can write deceiving changelogs that in reality fix nothing at all.

Sad to see how this abomination wasn’t included in more ‘Worst games of 2018’ videos, because it really is worse than Fallout 76.

    1. ” it really is worse than Fallout 76.”

this is a bad jc3, falllout 76 isnt even a bad fallout 4, its an abomination.

          1. But isn’t Just Cause 4 also broken to a greater extent ?

I mean this game seems like a rushed out product, and many users are still reporting issues, like bugs, glitches, random crashes and stuttering (just to name a few), and save game corruption etc.

It’s an unfinished and unpolished product, in my opinion. Not saying Fallout 76 is a good game either, but I think both these two games have been the worst releases of 2018.

          2. it’s weird because for me everything works perfectly, i lock my frame rate at 60 with msi afterburner and my gpu usage rarely goes over 40 percent.

    2. does it suck d*ck? yes, yes it does…no argument there…worse than fallout? whoa now, you speak outta turn mother trucker… only thing worse than that is literally sucking d*ck.

  2. What a buggy/broken mess this game is ! A quick glance on the STEAM’s review page says it all as well.

Textures and graphics are also so bad, I’m not sure what the devs were really thinking ?! But don’t get me wrong, because I was so much excited to play this title, but it turned out to be a huge bummer for me.

Overall Reviews: Mostly Negative (3,063 reviews)

    1. I was originally excited for it as well. I was hoping for a polished, optimized and visually stunning JC4, but instead we got a step back from 3 and even 2.

  3. Mad Max, the only good game Avalanche ever made. Hope that is the same team behind Mad Max that is making RAGE 2…if not…dear god, save us all for another broken mess.

It is incredible that Just Cause 3 was a good game, nothing impressive at all tho, but it looked quite nice, it ran nice on my rig at least, and it was fun. This thing of giving B Teams big IP’s (at least for Avalanche should be, for me JC always was a “B” game without the details that most open worlds have and such), look at what happened with Mass Effect: Andromeda and now look at what happened to JC4.

I rather have no game at all than broken, unpolished, unfinished products. But they want our money no matter the cost…let’s see the next Just Cause (if they dare to make another one) how is going to sell after this mess.

  4. And yet, still: no FOV slider and SSAO is broken with multi screen configs.

It’s cool they are working on it but clearly the game was badly tested/green lit and they simply dropped the ball on it. I hope eventually it will be fixed but I am not going to hold my breath. Having said all that I still really like it, it’s a great game.

Let’s hope Rage 2 is better in terms of issues.
