Metal Gear Solid 4 RPCS3 feature

Metal Gear Online 2 is once again playable, now on PC via RPCS3

While Konami took down the servers (and discontinued) Metal Gear Online 2, this online mode from Metal Gear Solid 4 is once again playable. However, Playstation owners will not be able to enjoy it. Instead, only PC gamers can experience Metal Gear Online 2 via the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3.

All you have to do is basically use the latest version of RPCS3 and download these two files (file 1 and file 2). Afterwards, you’ll have to create an account here. Then you’ll have to add MGO2 to the RPCS3 games’ list, launch and test the game.

You can find a tutorial for the installation procedure below. You can also find below a video, showing two hours of gameplay from Metal Gear Online 2 on PC via RPCS3.

MGO2 on PC Testing

As we’ve said multiple times in the past, the preservation of older titles is the main reason why emulators are so important. Metal Gear Online 2 is not playable in its original version. However, and thanks to RPCS3, players can re-experience the game.

Have fun!

  1. can we take a moment to boast the fact pc gaming can now play ps3 exclusives online with mouse support? This shouldnt even be possible.

  2. This is the result of Konami being braindead.

You know… instead of hiring someone capable to port… Basically all MGS games onto PC.

    Like… No brains. Whatsoever.
