Men of War II feature

Men of War II has been officially announced, coming to PC in 2022

1C Entertainment and Best Way have announced Men of War II; the next entry in the widely acclaimed real-time strategy franchise Men of War. In order to celebrate this announcement, the team has released the game’s reveal trailer that you can find below.

As the press release reads, Men Of War II will return to the series’ roots to rebuild and redefine real-time strategy gameplay. The new Front Line mechanic is the bedrock of exciting dynamic encounters, where the push-and-pull of each skirmish directly affects territory borders. Players will manage attritional battles and break through undefended lines to advance the areas of maps under control, digging trenches and supporting troops in newly won territory.

“Assume greater command of the battlefield with the enhanced Direct Vision feature to focus solely on one unit at any time and upgrade, change, or repair equipment on the fly. Level the theater of war with powerful armor and artillery capable of destroying buildings and weapon emplacements, while choosing from an arsenal including 45 battalions and more than 300 vehicles, all painstakingly designed with complete historical accuracy.”

The story will have two story campaigns, playable in single-player or up to five-player online co-op. In these campaigns, commanders will engage in battle on both the Western and Eastern Fronts. Players can take control of the courageous Allied Forces pushing their way through a devastated France. Additionally, they will control the steadfast Soviets defending their lands from the menacing Third Reich army.

Men of War II also promises to have the most advanced online multiplayer mode of the series. Players can select the Allies, Soviets, or Germans and engage against other commanders’ armies. Furthermore, players can choose from a wide range of skirmish and challenge maps, each created with strict attention to detail, making each arena authentic to the time period. Commanders can also join forces with other armies in online co-op, sending combined units against the new-and-improved AI in bloody mass combat.

It’s also worth noting that the game will have realistic physics and fully destructible objects, letting generals shape the warzone to their liking. Men of War II will also have full mod support, giving commanders endless opportunities in creating new battle scenarios with a special level design and modding toolset.

Nikolay Barishnikov, CEO at 1C Entertainment, said:

“Men of War II has an emphasis on tactical decision-making, engaging campaigns, and most importantly, historical accuracy. We want to give players the most authentic and entertaining experience possible. With our destructible environments, plethora of units to choose from, and full mod support, aspiring commanders can experience WWII on their own terms.”

Men of War II will release on Steam for PC in 2022!

    1. WW2 as a setting is great, and it fits a game like this because:
      1. Men of War has mostly focused on WW2 and it makes no sense for the direct sequel (though this looks like yet another expansion pack) to be any different

2.Most of the tech, strategies and tactics we use to this day are still heavily influenced by that war
3.It’s a batshit insane period in human history fought in a world stage with distinct art designs due to heavy cultural differences.

Maybe you should read a history book in your life

      1. We did have way too many WW2 games. It’s a period way too exhausted in games.

“So yeah I’m gonna shoot that Panzer from the rear with my Sherman yaaaawnn”

        1. Best Way didn’t make any game since the original Men of War 12 years ago.

It’s been digitalmindsoft all the way since then and up till now.

    2. Your comment is stupid and idiotic, particularly because I suspect you’ve never played this game.
There are few RTSes these days, and even fewer WW2 RTSes. But MoW has a very different formula compared to others, and it is a very good, fun, difficult, and rewarding formula.
We absolutely NEED more of this.

      1. there are tons and tons of ww2 rts games, the fact there are not many rts game is the way you shouldnt released 3-4 ww2 rts game at the same timetable. YOU are the idiot.

  1. Wonder if they’ll improve on what Gates of Hell added.
Probably not, still let’s see what they can do.

  2. Ahh … micromanaging memories.
Sometimes the games were frustrating (too much frustrating in case of MoW:Vietnam) but nevertheless the games offered an unique experience a bit different from other RTSs.

  3. Another boring WW2 game fighting Nazis blah blah blah …
How many games we have like this developers are running out of ideas….

    1. Most RTS games are, CoH2 was a rushed out pos released half broken and incomplete due to THQ going bankrupt and Sega wanting a finished game very quickly.
The awful microtransactions and awful visuals didn’t help either.

To this day the game is still a boring mess that’s easily beaten by it’s predecessor despite all it’s flaws and less user friendly mechanics.
