Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy feature 2

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is free on Epic Games Store

Square Enix and Epic Games are giving away free copies of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy on EGS. For the next 24 hours six days, PC gamers can visit its Epic Games Store page and acquire their free copy.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a single-player game that does not have any DLCs or micro-transactions.

In this game, players assume the role of Peter Quill and lead his band of misfit heroes-for-hire across the cosmos in search of glory, riches and a way out of whatever mess they’ve gotten themselves into this time.

For those wondering, Nixxes d3t (if you copied our article, make sure to update it now 😛 ) has handled the PC version of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The game has a built-in benchmark tool, and supports Ray Tracing. d3t has used RT to enhance the game’s reflections. Surprisingly enough, the game has a lot of reflected surfaces. So, contrary to other games, there is a noticeable image difference between the rasterized and the ray-traced versions.

I personally really enjoyed this game, and I strongly suggest giving it a go. After all, this is a free game. So, if you were interested in it, you can now play it. Keep in mind though that the game still uses Denuvo. Or at least its Steam version still does.

You can get your free copy by clicking this link. Be also sure to read our PC Performance Analysis. Oh, and here are some DLSS and Ray Tracing benchmarks.

Have fun!

    1. Millions of parents buy cosmetic DLC for children playing Fortnite. Epic spends millions on bulk game licences to give away and build a customer base/market share.

      1. Unfortunately for them, most of those customers are just freeloaders who will never spend a single penny on their inferior store…

      1. “No good deed goes unpunished”. I don’t buy games on EGS or anywhere, but i don’t understand the hate it gets.

        1. Because I have a contract with VALVe! 😉

However, I feel exactly the same way when I see all the hate Linux is getting, even though it too is available to everyone absolutely free of charge!

Still doesn’t stop people from hating on it, even though the Internet itself would stop functioning without it…

    1. The freebies can’t continue forever though. Epic has already said recently that the giveaways will have to come to an end eventually. It’s a financial drain that is no longer serving it’s intended purpose I guess. Hell, maybe Fortnite billions of dollars are starting to slip.

      1. True, so all the better to grab the free games while we can. Most of the offerings have been pretty crappy, like Saints Row and Cat Quest. But the last two days were pretty good games. Both Guardians and A Plague Tale Innocence are fantastic games.

      2. It’s too bad pc gamers have a lot of conspiritardism about chinese spies and tunnel vision. Have they retributed EGS goodwill, they could essentially have free games for years to come, like those subscription based services like Amazon, but without paying a subscription.

      3. Most definitely, that is why I redeem them when I can when they are of interest to me. I totally understand they will not be able to do this forever.

        1. Americans like things easy and like them their way. It’s written how it’s pronounced. You don’t say, ‘oh today is five one,’ you say, ‘today is January 5th.’

  1. Epic check, marvel check, pixartard writing check, denuvo check, yeah so not even free, or directly give them data to pay for it really. Looks like marvel bought a lot of game keys on steam too judging by the review bombing, steam is in uproar when there are “too many” suspicious negatives(hurts sales of course) but not in the opposite case, gangsters.

    1. While Denuvo sucks and should be removed from the game, especially at this point, why does it really matter to you that much? You are willing to pass up a really fun and great game (especially for anything branded as Marvel) just to sit on some high horse about anti-piracy software that you won’t ever see or notice in the game?

Again, I hate Denuvo as much as the next guy, but it really doesn’t effect the player at all (unless you pirate it, and again, it’s free this week) and you’re depriving yourself of a pretty fun single player game. I’d encourage you to grab it, load it up and give it an hour, I’m sure you’ll have a blast and won’t think of Denuvo while you’re playing it. If you hate it, well, all you wasted is an hour, since the game itself is free.

      1. Regarding Denuvo, its has been shown it does effect performance. And regarding you coment on the pirated version, this would remove denuvo, so then it would NOT be a problem. Regarding the game, you can buy the game for £5 on other platforms, and not have to deal with EpicOnlineServices.

        1. Mostly old PCs were the affected ones. There is no noticeable performance hit at least as far ago as the Intel 9th Gen.

There are exceptions but they are not the rule.

      2. Again, I hate Denuvo as much as the next guy, but it really doesn’t effect the player at all

It’s not just Denuvo, it’s this whole DRM games-as-a-service from Steam and Epic that sucks, Denuvo is just part of it.

Many people use GoG to get away from DRM, but also to get away from Steam and Epic.

GoG allows you to back-up the game’s install file on an HDD, burn it to a DVD/Blu-ray, you basically fully own the game.

GoG’s launcher is also fully optional. So you don’t need to be online, ever, if you don’t want to. My mini-PC attached to my TV is a fully offline gaming console thanks to GoG.

GoG’s DRM-free policy also guarantees that your games will keep working. On Steam/Epic, gamers will be totally screwed if Denuvo servers or Steamworks DRM goes offline one day.

On Steam/Epic, I used to look up which rotten DRM each game used. With GoG, no game is allowed to use DRM, it’s a relief after downloading the game that I fully own it and developers can never take your game away from you.

        1. Also, the Steam launcher is a bloated mess.
          -Pop-ups
          -Live Streams
          -award shows
          -notifications
          -news
          -Steam point shop
          -community spam
-ads for games left and right
-ads for their steam deck brick, designed for people with gorilla hands
-ads for their VR goggles that no one buys

I can’t believe people put up with Steam in 2024. Steam literally sold games with crypto malware not too long ago because they don’t even check what they sell.

The Steam launcher has become the most bloated program ever designed. Why does a game launcher need an integrated streaming service. Wtf is wrong with these clowns at Valve.

GoG’s launcher is streamlined, properly curated, simple and optional, as a launcher should be.

          1. because you have to if you want great AAA titles that gog doesn’t offer companies have a right to protect their properties and trademarks

        2. that’s why the selection of games are not as strong as at steam and epic many AAA titles are unavailable on GoG

    2. A game being free nullifies their DRM, so i dunno what your point is. Just add it to your library and wait for Square to remove on their own… someday.

    3. lol 🤣 imagine not playing and enjoying a great game cause of “denuvo” what companies should just support people stealing there stuff 🤑

  2. Had just finished this for the second time last week. The VO from this game is something else, really an amazing work. The game is quite fun as well, even for me who never saw a movie about this.

  3. Wonderfull and all POS Denuvo trash games, should be made free – only way to get my – No Money 😁👌

This is awesome. Time to add it 👌

  4. Off Topic:

Sorry but this is so f*cking stupid that it’s incredulous. CIG has just outdone themselves with a new Star Citizen DLC called Legatus. The package costs $48,000 and contains every ship in the “game”.

$48,000 is basically the cost of 800 AAA games. WTF!

  5. In addition, I had a wonderful time with that. In spite of the fact that both the narration and the images are of a very high level, you realise that you are anxiously expecting what will happen next. Regardless of whether you choose to defend this stroll or not, it will be essentially the same every time.

  6. First of all, Squeenix now have not thing to do with either Eidos-Montreal nor GotG. This one is purely on EM.
Secondly, d3t is the studio handled PC version of the game, not Nixxes. Wake the f*k up, John.
P/S: For those who doesn’t play the game yet, now it the change. The game have ABSOLUTELY nothing in common with Avengers. This one is traditional linear, single-player game experience filled with heart, humor and emotions.

  7. I’m not sure where you obtain your knowledge, but this is a fantastic issue. I should spend some time understanding or learning more. Thank you for the amazing information; I needed this for my mission.

  9. I loved you even more than you’ll say here. The picture is nice and your writing is stylish, but you read it quickly. I think you should give it another chance soon. I’ll likely do that again and again if you keep this walk safe.

  10. I loved you better than you would ever be able to express here. The picture is beautiful, and your wording is elegant; nonetheless, you read it in a short amount of time. I believe that you ought to give it another shot in the near future. If you make sure that this trek is safe, I will most likely try to do that again and again.
