Mafia Remake officially releases on August 28th, gets official teaser trailer

2K Games has officially announced that the Mafia Remake, Mafia: Definitive Edition, will release on August 28th. Mafia: Definitive Edition will be a full remake of the first Mafia in the Mafia 3 Engine. Moreover, the publisher has released an official teaser trailer that you can find below.

In other news, 2K Games will release today both Mafia 2: Definitive Edition and Mafia 3: Definitive Edition.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition is a remaster of the second Mafia game, featuring better character models and new lighting effects. This remaster will also have better textures and new post-processing effects. Furthermore, the classic Mafia 2 game is no longer available for purchase.

On the other hand, Mafia III: Definitive Edition is the original game with all of its DLCs. Unfortunately, this new version of Mafia 3 does not pack any visual/graphical improvements. I also don’t expect any performance improvements. After all, 2K Games is offering this Definitive Edition via the original Steam store page of Mafia 3.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition will be granted to all Steam owners of the original game at no additional cost. Moreover, existing Mafia III owners will be upgraded to the Definitive Edition.

In short, the only game that will be worth your money is Mafia Remake.

Lastly, you will be able to purchase this Mafia Remake as a standalone game.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

  1. Thanks for the official news John. It couldn’t have gotten official enough. There is an official gameplay reveal coming at the official pc gamer show.

    1. And anyone who re-pirates this is an idiot and need their piracy card revoked. Because this is not a remaster, this is just a republish. This is the same version of the game with nothing different. All they did was change the name from Deluxe Edition to DEFINITIVE Edition. It’s kinda sickening.

    2. And 2 aswell. But we all know that the only expected game here is the remake of the original.

    3. First mafia is SJW cancerous garbage? Jesus christ something pretty serious must have happened to you, you’ve totally lost it in the latest comments i read

  2. They already had an edition of Mafia III with all the DLC, it’s called THE DELUXE EDITION. I have no idea why people are acting like they don’t know this $chitt already.

  3. ” Unfortunately, this new version of Mafia 3 does not pack any visual/graphical improvements. I also don’t expect any performance improvements. After all, 2K Games is offering this Definitive Edition via the original Steam store page of Mafia 3 “.

Then it’s a totally “pointless” release after all, honestly speaking.

Why can’t the DEVs optimize this game for good ? It still stutters and runs horribly even on high-end gaming systems. But nonetheless, this game is not worth playing either !

  4. Sounds like a different voice actor for Tommy. Why would you do that? Don’t want to pay twice to the original cast of voice actors? But they surely paid new cast.
