Lords of the Fallen 2 won’t come to Steam, will require an Epic ID, gets official PC requirements

CI Games has confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 will not come out on Steam at launch. Instead, the game will be released exclusively on the Epic Games Store. Moreover, it will require an Epic ID to play. Plus, we’ve gotten its official PC system requirements.

In Lords of the Fallen 2, players will journey across a vast, war-torn kingdom crumbling from within, as the realms of the living and the dead begin to bleed into one. From moonlit citadels to time-ravaged temples, players will have to tread carefully as each step forward may well be their last.

Players will face tough, Soulslike battles where every hit matters. The combat is fast, smooth, and aggressive. You can fight with swords, magic, close-range attacks, or ranged weapons, and try out many different builds to defeat enemies. After each fight, you can finish opponents with brutal executions. Players will also battle giant, terrifying monsters in a dark world with no mercy. Every fight will be a hard test of skill, courage, and determination.

Lords of the Fallen 2 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. To run it, PC gamers will at least need an Intel i5 8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with 12GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700.

The devs recommend an Intel i7 8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 3080 or an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.

Sadly, we don’t know the resolution, graphics settings, and framerate these PC specs target. As said, the game will also require an Epic ID.

    1. Good news Unreal 5 can't run without stuttering on a 3000 dollar GPU. The guy running this site already showed that with the latest Respawn Star Wars game lol. It's really a 30 fps game engine if you want to have large maps and stream in stuff. Anything past that gets messy and the more ambitious the title the worse it gets.

      So get a cheap GPU lock it to 30 and framegen it and play it with a controller. Does the input latency suck? Yeah. It's that or stuttering. Take a pick.

      1. That`s a terrible idea. I have 5070 ti @ 3200 MHz and 5800x3d and I can play any ue5 game in 4k with dlss4 and MFG x3 at like 200 fps, no major issues except the usual ue5 microstutter from time to time.

        Usually you just turn one or two settings from cinematic to high and ue5 games run descent enough.

  13. Not only is it Epic Exclusive, not only will it run like garbage because of Unreal, you will now need to show identification in the UK and republican US states before you can even buy it, due to "Age Verification Checks".

    Many people are done with gaming. An Nvidia/AMD GPU monopoly that made hardware unaffordable. $80 games. And non-stop AI slop.

  18. They're not the first to do it, apart from Fortnite, all the others have failed miserably! Just look at Alan Wake 2, which, although it won the Game of the Year award, is still an Epic exclusive and isn't selling.
    Ignoring the Steam platform, the one with the most games and the most users, is the stupidest thing you can do.
    we might as well release the game only on consoles because sales on PC will be ridiculous anyway.

    3. I don't even think it's just about epic exclusivity, but the implications of it.

      A That they can be bought off at the expense of customers.
      B That they think their product isn't good enough to stand on it's own without getting paid off.
      C That they really don't care what the customer thinks, but what lines their pockets.

      Point is no one really trusts a dev who goes for exclusivity like this, not in the pc space.

Part of the issue is that some of these games would not have been made if it weren't for the additional cash infusion from deals offered by Epic or Gamepass that comes at the cost of exclusivity. Not every game can have an expansive and strong early access program that supports them through development like Baldur's Gate 3. I guess an argument can be made that if the developers can't be financially viable on their own then they shouldnt exist but I do think it's a worse outcome that we would have less games or that some wouldnt exist without these kinds of options.

    It's UE5 slop, so expect graphics settings that change little to nothing (beside gi / shadows), "cinematic experience", mandatory upscaling and big fps swings while the game struggles to push beyond 60 on something they claim is "recommended".

  26. I haven't played either of the previous LOTF games but everything I've heard of them it's not really one of those franchises that will succeed by going "If you wanna play OUR game you're gonna have to jump through hoops!"

  27. I won't be buying it until it comes to steam. I made that mistake before buying somethings on Ubisoft and epic's store that weren't on steam only for the games to eventually come to steam anyways. I'll be fine waiting a year or whatever for the exclusivity to run it's course.

    Once a game isn't in my stream library when I finish a game then browse my backlog for what to play next those non-Steam games always get missed.
