L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files announced for the HTC VIVE, coming on November 14th

Rockstar Games has just announced L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for the HTC VIVE. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files represents the first steps of Rockstar into virtual reality, and will be released on November 14th.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files will feature seven of the original cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality, blending breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience.

Rockstar Games has also announced that L.A. Noire will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One with technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, including enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, high resolution textures and more. The company did not reveal whether these graphical enhancements will be coming to the PC version of L.A. Noire via a patch, or whether this enhanced version of the game will be released on our platform.

    1. I will gladly buy it. LA Noire was a very good game in spite of its shortcomings and experiencing it in VR will be great as well. Though… I never asked for it indeed 🙂

      1. except rockstar didn’t make it
        Team bondai did.
and guess what happend to team bondai after the game was completed?
        fired. just like that

so basically rockstar took the credit and P*ssed on the creator
and not to mention splitting some of the game’s content behind a dumb season pass

        1. Yeah it was a sh|ty situation what they did 🙁 no doubt. Again another case of a publisher treating a dev shop like sh|t & not respecting them. It really sucks 2 see that sort of practice and situation go down to any dev group.

      2. That makes perfect sense to me, but knowing Rockstar they may just be cashing in. I really hope not and they do plan to do a full out follow up game and get your plan. Fingers crossed hey.

  1. I remember when LA Noire first came out and I saw how perfectly 1940s LA had been recreated, I thought how awesome it’d be to go on a virtual vacation in that world, but this was before virtual reality really made a comeback. Now is the PERFECT time to revisit the game’s world.

Man, when the first headsets were announced, my dream was to play Fallout and Elder Scrolls in VR and they’re coming out in a few months and now LA Noire? I’m going to be one spoiled VR gamer.

  2. “will feature seven of the original cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality”

why not all of them? why not the entire game? this is why i havent gotten into vr yet. its all minigames and gimmick titles. give us actual games.

      1. I will never buy VR. Sice i already spent 690e euros just 6 months ago for cpu ram and motherboard if i wanted to do more upgrades nowi would had bought a GTX 1080TI instead of VR(since they cost about the same money). I will never touch VR.

    1. Rockstar keep treating PC like second class citizens and i don’t understand it. GTA 5 sold incredibly well on PC. The franchise started on PC. Yet they wont confirm or commit to a PC version of RDR2 or an enhanced version of LA Noire.

      1. Here, let me confirm it for you (you can thank me later); RDR2 is coming to PC. Guaranteed.

There’s too much money on the line for it to not reach PC. As for why; it’s all about trying to entice people to buy the console versions & the PC version, both by pretending there won’t be a PC version.

As for LA Noire….. Probably coming to PC, once they get bribed by one of the VR manufacturers into an exclusivity agreement, I suppose. Or maybe not, who knows, maybe they’ll do the PC version regardless….. Or not at all.

Yeah, I really don’t know about LA Noire.

      2. ever since san andreas (where the PS2 got released a year before the PC version)
rockstar have treated PCgamers like garbage
(aka stuffing GFWL into GTA IV+sec-rum, LA noire was a console exclusive when it first came etc etc..)

like zatara said below, it’s all part of the plan to make sure people buy the game twice
though i’m still unsure about RDR2

          1. Yup!
f**king sec-rum (the creators of denovu) still ships with GTA IV on steam
though a small mod of copy N paste pretty much neutralize it along with GFWL

          2. Lol yeah, I figured you meant Secu-ROM, but I don’t think I’ve ever encountered “Sec-Rum” before 😛

            Suck-ROM, maybe? U-SUCK-ROM? 😀

          3. i call it sec-rum because it’s a drunken DRM which i can remove in seconds
in point of fact, when you launch the game it also launches secu-rom
and it has it’s own process exe, when you start the task manager
i’ve actually tested to see the difference when your internet connection is shaky it impacts FPS

after i disabled the executable, immediately i hit max FPS in-game
which basically means this “anti-piracy measure” is nothing more than a malware

Rockstar on steam has bad reputation overall, hell Bully SE doesn’t even work (tried patching, didn’t work, tried download a mod from a user, link is dead, tried compatibility mode, didn’t work i just refunded it and played it on my Xbox one, surprisingly G 2 A codes of this game exist for cheap)

to be honest the company lost it’s charm, GTA V was boring as hell
without modding the game would’ve quickly lost it’s popularity in the PC community

i did a Rockstar marathon this month and i gotta admit that RDR was a step down to IV, and GTA V was a huge step down from RDR

in essence if this is the same team of RDR the game should be good
though with take2 view of “microtransactions or nothing!”
i fear that the single player content will be either hampered by rushed out development or microtransaction in singleplayer aswell as multiplayer

will they sabotage their own game? time will tell…

          4. I preferred RDR to GTA IV, but otherwise, agreed 😛

As for SP microtransactions in RDR2….. Hm. I hope not >.<

  3. Might only be 7 missions, I will they built the whole game in VR to be honest though, but my god I’m looking forward to this now!

  4. Well its a good sign to see that R* has not completely forgotten about L.A. Noire. As mentioned in other places of the internetz, a NYC Noire would be freakin sick!
Hope R* makes it happen someday.
