Here is the classic SNES Donkey Kong Country 2 being recreated in Unreal Engine 4

3D Environment Artist ‘Samuel Cazetta‘ has shared some images from his Donkey Kong Country 2 project in Unreal Engine 4. Samuel has recreated the Lockjaw’s Locker map from DKC2, and it looks really beautiful.

The artist will – most probably – not release this map to the public, however you can find below some screenshots and a video comparison between the original SNES and this recreation.

This recreation is really close to the original SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 2, so kudos to Samuel for staying so close to the original material.

Enjoy!

  1. Now this is the kind of remake that’d I’d probably follow. It’s a truly old game, and limited in scope, which should up it’s chance of being completed. Hey they pulled it off w/ a castlevania not too long ago.

  2. The game would be better as a competitive multiplayer FPS. Replace the monkeys with some bad@ss marines and you’d have a decent game.

  3. Looks dope but i hope chromatic aberration dies out completely. It is an effect that should literally never be used
