Reddit’s member ‘DrOversight‘ has discovered an interesting Google cached page of Rockstar’s support page, according to which the new-gen version of GTA V will feature a first person mode for vehicles and while on foot. Now since Rockstar has not confirmed anything yet, we strongly suggest taking it with a grain of salt, however – and since this information comes straight from Rockstar – this may actually be legit.
As Rockstar’s support team wrote when a fan asked about the new features that will be supported in the new-gen version of GTA V:
Answer: Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.
All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.
Grand Theft Auto V for PC will also feature a video editor designed for advanced movie-making.
In addition to the above features, you’ll see:
• A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more
• A brand new first person mode while on foot
• A wealth of new easter eggs and random events for Story Mode
• New animals roaming Los Santos
• Animals in GTA Online?
• Players that transfer characters from Xbox 360 or PS3 will receive free new weapons and a free garage in GTA Online.
• Newly overhauled character selection screen
A first-person mode for vehicles does sound interesting, and it was definitely something that was missing from all previous GTA titles. Moreover, a first-person mode while on foot will give players the means to capture some lovely screenshots, so that’s also something that does sound cool.
Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the PC this January!

If its true, then it’s great! Tried once the FPS mod in GTA IV and it was a awesome experience! 😀
Theyve never added FP perspective in any other GTA game as far as I know, could be they where dabbling with VR at some point maybe? Who knows.
Well technically GTA 3 had a first person driving mode.
Even if it doesn’t come with a default first-person mode someone will make a mod to have this feature.
GTA5 wont support mods.
Do you see people modding Max Payne 3?
Because mods would ruin the online play.
lel
GTA IV didn’t support mods idiot, it doesn’t matter, they are tons of mods for it
There’s a couple mods but nobody is interested in modding that game. Also that last sentence is stupid.
how is it stupid? in order for online play to be viable there needs to be an even playing fields. as soon as people start modding stuff it changes the balance of the game and ruins the point of it.
Because you are stupid. Take a look at valve, mods dont ruin mp, if you have changed files in your install of the game they gonna found out that you did and overwrite them as soon as you connect to the mp servers. 3d models and skins however for counter strike are fine.
If rockstar wants they can even include moded servers for things like zombie mods and such.
I did mod Max Payne 3 by myself
I think you mean online play was an excuse for them to cut out modding.
max payne 3 was made by rockstar vancouver not rockstar north, also why mod max payne 3?
wow, how amazing… now lets go and pre order this sh*t and forget about they sh*ting on pc gamers, because it has more advanced video maker sh*t
Even if most people don’t want to play this way, it’s a nice option just for being able to look around sometimes, take screenshots, examine something ore closely, etc. It was such a pain in the butt trying to swing the 3rd person camera around in Mass Effect 2 so I could check out Miranda, a first-person option would have solved those issues!
dat hype
Guys, this is obviously just a gimmick so console peasants will buy GTA V NEXTGEN again.
This would be incredible.
Rock$tar Game$.
f’ this game and f’ rockstar.
In case TPS camera only for cars/bikes airplanes and helis >>> F’ YOU rockstar.
Thank you for your attention.
PS: In case fixed camera for planes stays, and no cockpit view (with AND without dashboard) >>>>>>> F’ you for the next 10 years rockstar.
Well looks like I’m gonna sell my console version in 2015…
FPS driving was always there. The rest can be modded anyway.
