Ghost of Tsushima feature

Ghost of Tsushima Official PC Requirements

Sony has just revealed the official PC system requirements for Ghost of Tsushima. As we’ve reported, the team that will handle this PC port is Nixxes and the team has confirmed that the game will support both AMD FSR 3.0 and NVIDIA DLSS 3 at launch.

Now I’m not really sure whether there will be support for AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation or not. After all, Horizon: Forbidden West does not have support for Frame Generation when using AMD FSR. Nixxes has claimed that it’s waiting for AMD to release FSR 3.1 so that it can add support for AMD FSR Frame Generation in Horizon: Forbidden West. So, in theory, Ghost of Tsushima won’t have Frame Generation when using AMD FSR 3.0. Or at least that’s my assumption. As for DLSS 3, there should be support for Frame Generation.

Anyway, to run the game on Very Low at 720p with 30fps, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i3-7100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT. The game will also require 75GB of free disk space, and Nixxes suggests using an SSD.

For gaming on High settings on either 1440P with 60fps or 4K with 30fps, the devs recommend using an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800.

Finally, for the best gaming experience on Very High settings at 4K with 60fps, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.

I’m currently playing Horizon: Forbidden West and it is one of the best PC ports I’ve seen from Nixxes. So, I’m pretty certain that Ghost of Tsushima will also look and run incredibly well on PC.

Sony will release Ghost of Tsushima on PC on May 16th.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. wow, this is what we like to see. Raw expectations with no upscaling solution strongly recommended. Probably will run even better when it gets its first big discount!

    1. Problem is that the Developer didn’t tell what graphics settings were used for the various resolutions or if an upscaler was used to qualify for the 60 fps recommendation.

Saying medium, high, very high is vague. Are they referring to the actual graphics settings they used or to the resolutions 1080p, 1440p and 4K?

We will have to wait for reviews and benches to see what the real hardware requirements are.

      1. I think its would be a separate preset for each resolution but I could see how you can infer that. You are definitely right that we should of course wait for reviews but I still feel this is a pretty good sign.

      2. When has a graphic preset ever changed or even toggled resolution upscalling ?

both the settings and resolutions are mentioned separately.

        1. Fair enough but what were those graphics presets? They don’t say. You are left to speculate. Medium, high, very high. Those terms are subjective and not worth much really. Where is Ultra? Where is Max? What is Ultra anyway? If I describe Ultra settings as one step above very high but one step below Max could anyone dispute that? Or maybe I’m saying that ultra is 2 steps above very high but 3 steps below max. Would that be wrong? There are no standards so none of those terms are of much value when deciding if my hardware can handle the game the way I would want it to imo.

  2. This game is quite cool and will surely shine on our platform.
Best thing is that is going to be free, so thanks, Soyny™

  3. I’m sure with the glory that is frame gen, this title will have no problem hitting that golden target of 4k@120FPS on the 4090, as was the case with Horizon FW.

  4. I wanted to replay this gem on PS5, but the motion blur is so strong I couldn’t stand it a second time.

Promptly got rid of my PS5 and games when this was announced.

  5. LOL. Im deep into Forbidden West, and since I go for 100%, it may happen to I finish it around may 16…. It sucks btw

    1. Incredibly slow, boring, and uninspired game. Surprising considering how much I enjoyed HZD. At least the visuals are nice and performance is excellent.

  6. why they do this crap, 1440p medium 60 fps, wtf is this crap? For a ps4 game it should run better.

    1. I think you might’ve read it wrong, as it says high for 1440p/60fps, not medium. If I had to guess, the high setting is the ps5 equivalent, and considering the RTX 3070 is less than 15% faster than the PS5 GPU equivalent (which is the RX 6700 10GB), it’s actually not too terrible.

      1. yes thats what i am saying why nixxes sticks the preset to resolution? Its weird. This is a ps4 game.

        1. I think they’re just showing what kind of hardware is needed to run for a small set of resolution, graphics presets and target performance combinations. This chart doesn’t imply in any way that resolution can ONLY be set through the presets. This is how system requirements charts that are a bit more informative have been like for the past few years, it’s nothing new.

      2. The PS5 GPU is not as powerful as a RX 6700 and it probably 15-20% lower in power because it runs at lower clock speeds and lower voltages to keep the package TDP within specs, The PS5 GPU falls in between a 5700XT and a 6700

Same is true for the CPU, while it uses the same Ryzen chiplet as a 3700X it’s clocks and voltages are lower to keep the package TDP within specs.

When they need more GPU power they will up the clocks but at the same time they have to lower the CPU clocks to keep package TDP in spec. The package TDP is only 180W for both the GPU and CPU and a RX6700 TDP is 175W by itself thus it is impossible for the PS5 GPU to be as powerful as a RX 6700

Nothing trumps the laws of physics

  7. I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today yet I never found any interesting article like yours It is pretty worth enough for me In my opinion if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did the web will be much more useful than ever before

  8. Watch this run at 1080p medium/high 30/40 FPS on an FX 6300 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060/RX 580. These folks always overstate the PC requirements to avoid lawsuits.

    1. Yep, my nephw PC will probably play this at 60 Fps with his R5 2600 and GTX 1060 6 GB, albeit at his TV resolution of mere 1366*768p
