A few days ago, Sony released Ghost of Tsushima on PC. And, this weekend, this game managed to surpass the peak number of concurrent players of God of War, meaning that it’s now the biggest single-player PlayStation release on PC.
Here are all the PlayStation games on PC, filtered by the peak number of concurrent players.
The first game is no other than Helldivers 2, followed now by Ghost of Tsushima. However, Helldivers 2 is an Online game. As such, the biggest single-player launch on PC is now Ghost of Tsushima.
This basically means that GoT has surpassed God of War, the Horizon games, the Spider-Man games, and The Last of Us Part I.
To be honest, I’m not surprised by the game’s success. For years I’ve been saying that GoT would be a commercial hit on PC. And, from the looks of it, I was right.
Now imagine what will happen if Sony releases the Demon’s Souls Remake on PC. I don’t get why Sony hasn’t done this yet. There’s a big market for Souls games on PC. So, you’d think this would be one of the first games to come out on PC. But here we are, and there’s still no news about it. It just doesn’t make any sense.
The announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows might have helped increase the PC sales of Ghost of Tsushima. That’s mere speculation and nothing more. Still, the announcement of AC: Shadows may have made people interested in another action-adventure game set in Japan.
Not only that but the PC port appears to be in a great state. Ghost of Tsushima supports both NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.0. Moreover, it’s the first PC game that allows you to use NVIDIA DLSS 3 Super Resolution with AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation.

lol, Sony does not make games. This is another $60 “cinematic experience” full of cutscenes instead of gameplay.
The little user engagement there is is incredibly repetitive and boring.
You’re an idiot if you think games like God of War Ragnarok or Ghost of Tsushima are just “cinematic experiences” full of cutscenes.
Ghost of Tsushima literally has 6 hour of unskippable cutscenes.
Sony targets their games at the average dumb american who is too mentally challenged to play an actual game, and too uneducated to read text so everything has been turned into a cutscene.
No one denies they’re made for simpler audiences and have lots of cinematics and a big focus on story. But to just wave them away saying they’re just that is something only “cool” dudes in the DSOGaming comments section do.
Last Sony game i played was Days Gone, it’s quite ironic that i put the game down because of the lame story and underused game mechanics, they have a good setting and interesting mechanics but can’t put some interesting scenarious in them because of fear of scaring casuals.

Played the prologue and few minutes in free-roam, it felt like another Ubisoft chore, perhaps a little bit better than AC but still average.
People love the setting, and that’s why they forget about this game being as lame as any other Ubisoft formula open-world

Not quite perfect but I don’t care, Had a bug with the audio when using Japanese with English subs, Audio cut out in some scenes but when I changed it in setting it came back.
Not sure if it’s on my end or the game needs patch.

It’s a great game. Authentic cultural characters, brutal combat, good story and with a magical soul. I’ve been wanting it on PC the day it was first announced. Truth be told more such releases from playstation like the last guardian, shadow of the colossus, God of war 3 and they’ll top the sales even more
this shi is so good and addictive i played it on ps4, ps5 and now on pc.
GoW 3 would probably have me double dipping, Love that game even more than the newer one’s.
I still have it on PS3 disc and now emulated it on pc, But if they just bring it out and update it, I would buy again for pc collection.

There's nothing authentic about it. Story is totally contrived nonsense. BB and Demon Souls are FromSoft games, not really Sony games.

Those countries have small economies with a few exception.
Yes they have small economies compared to west but region pricing evens out things for us, most people in third world countries are PC gamers even the rich ones. I am from Pakistan and due to steam most of my friends who are PC gamers starting buying games on steam, lots of people buy games even in third world countries if it is convenient to do so. Games are cheaper but we pay more cost for hardware compared to people in the west due to import duties and taxes. This game is banned in Philippines as well but not India and Philippines is bigger economy than India. I don’t think economy is the sole reason for banning these many countries.

It makes perfect sense why SONY isn’t releasing BloodBorne and Demon’s Souls Remake on PC. Those are the last good games it has as exclusives on its PotatoStation.
I always thought about it being a pretty perverse strategy from Sony. As in making PC gamers buy all ports for the 2 we want the most to be released.

Hi John! Can you please test this 2 things?
1. Using frame gen if you’re low on health while fighting the game will automaticaly drop to 30 fps (even if you normally have 60 and the gpu/cpu usage is normal). As soon as you’re healthy the game resumes to 60.
2. The game appears to run worse with time suggesting a potential memory leak.
Is there a way to solve this without an official update? Thanks in advance.
Of course helldivers is first. Ppl like spending their cash on online trash they can play with friends when they get off from work. Farming and raiding stpd sht. Ppl are so simple minded i swear.

And even if that were true, tell me one game that doesn’t have the fetch mission style playthru. They all do it, GTA started it in the 90s when it introduced the first sandbox fetch mission style genre.
Well, Ghost of Tsushima or any ubisoft witcher clone are not very complex and demanding games too: they are developed with very casual audience in mind, their whole gameplay loop consists of wandering around the world, killing things, doing fetch quests, watching cutscenes – the stuff that have been done to death countless times already. There are no deep gameplay mechanics or reactive world or anything that could challenge and average player, these games are the definition of slop.
The online products like Helldivers (yeah, they are simple) at least have an element of human unpredictability and it is just more interesting to play with real people, instead of wandering around samey sanitized open worlds we have been fed for almost two decades.

I’ve had my fair share of COD, i even streamed and coached ppl for a bit and made a nice living, but that was about it. Ppl are crazy stupid, the way they died not knowing basic stuff and the way i had killed countless players online was mind boggling to me.
As if spending $60 on this cinematic trash with no replay value is any better.

and in my opinion it’s a better game! Hot Take, maybe, but it’s how I feel, as good or even great as God of War is.
