SNK has just revealed that Garou 2 will be now called Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Additionally, the company shared the first in-engine trailer for this upcoming fighting game that you can find below.
For those unaware, Garou is part of the SNK’s Fatal Fury series, in which Rock Howard and Terry Bogard are the main protagonists. Rock Howard is the son of Geese Howard that was raised by Terry Bogard.
From what we can see, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be powered by the same engine that SNK used in The King of Fighters XV. This new Fatal Fury game will have cel-shading graphics, and in the trailer, we see some cool hair physics. We also see some of Rock Howard’s iconic moves.
Unfortunately, SNK has not shared any more details about Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. We still don’t know when it will come out or the platforms for which it will be available.
In theory, this new Fatal Furt/Garou game will release on all current-gen platforms. However, it remains a mystery whether the PC version will be available alongside the console versions.
Let’s not forget that the PC version of Samurai Shodown came out one year after the PS4/Xbox One versions. On the other hand, The King of Fighters XV released simultaneously on consoles and PC. So yeah, let’s hope that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will follow KoF XV’s example.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

Fatal Fury games were my favorite fighting games in the 90s, so I can’t wait to see how it turns out.😍
Japanese games are in the stone age when it comes to graphics.
I didn’t buy a PC to play with some flat rendered anime faces. You either compete, or you’ll be forced out of the industry.
well Japanese are more into console than PC.
Dumbest sh*t I ever heard
Like I’m back to 2008 again
They really need to add a lot of new characters and/or mechanics to justify buying this game when King of Fighters XV is already so stacked with Fatal Fury/Garou characters. Since there’s already so much crossover between FF and KoF, I wish they would just stick to one series and keep loading its roster full of characters. I’ve never been a fan of fighting games having its roster completely dictated and limited by some asinine story that most people don’t care about anyway. Me and one of my friends haven’t touched an SNK game in years until KoF XV when they finally brought back characters we cared about like Rock, Blue Mary, and B. Jenet. Then you got games like Tekken where one of my mains, Jun Kazama, is an on-again, off-again character. My friend is holding out on Street Fighter 6 until Akuma gets added. It’s such a stupid practice that needs to die already.
Played the original mark of the wolves quite a lot years ago. Tbh never been a fan of 3d models in a 2d fighters, but at the very least at least the animations look smooth.
There are quite a few cel shaded fighters that stick to 24fps animations which look choppy asf, awful imo, but the models are of high quality.
The guy that downvoted you is retarded just like my downvoter.
I agree. I much prefer good, well-animated 2D art over 3D which borders on lazy half the time. For Capcom and SNK alike it feels like all of the soul has been ripped out. SF6 and KoF XV are quite polished and have helped remove the bad taste out of my mouth, but my favorites will always be the sprite-based ones from back in the day.
Yep, when I was younger I always thought we would one day have high resolution detailed sprites with smooth 60fps animations. Would have loved to have seen a remaster of 3rd strike with this, for it’s time it was so fluid.
KoF XIII is probably the closest thing you’ll get to your dream, although it borders too much on so-called “HD graphics” for my taste, as I’ll always be a fan of “seeing the pixels” no matter how high res the art gets.
3rd Strike would indeed be perfect for such a remaster, given the rotoscoped animation that it employed.
