Free demo for The Surge coming next week

Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 have announced that a free demo for The Surge will be released next week. The teams did not reveal any additional details, though we believe that this demo to feature the first main mission from it.

The Surge was released on May 16th and as we’ve already claimed, it performs great on the PC platform. Deck13 has offered a nice amount of options to tweak, and the game runs wonderfully even on dual-core systems.

The Surge is an action RPG that is inspired by the Dark Souls games, in which players will battle through a world gone mad as Warren, on his first day of work at CREO – a megacorporation that has been hit by a devastating catastrophe.

Stay tuned for more!

    1. Well to be honest, it’s only here that they added the ‘free’ part. I don’t know why, though, has anyone ever charged for a demo?

        1. Eh, that’s not a demo since it isn’t part of Phantom Pain. Obviously 20 bucks is too much for what it offers, should be around 5, at most.

BTW, I don’t even like MGS games.

  1. Don’t bother with this game, the presentation is great
but after the first stage the game goes to $hit
cramped mobs, clustered level design and p*ss poor hit-detection

worst thing of the game is that your actions are queued and there is no way to cancel them
so if you hit RB 3 times, you’re exactly gonna swing 3 times, no way to stop the animations and many times you’ll swing at thin air

lore is barebones, just like lords of the fallen
overall this game is horrible, a bland ripoff of bloodborne with repedative design (fight the same guys over and over again until you unlock the next shortcut)

i wasted 45$ on this crap and the only good thing that came out of it was the Hub music
“i was born in a prison, no hope”
    Prisoner by Stumfol

    1. How is the presentation great? The game looks like garbage, even outdated Japanese broken ports like NiER look better than this.

      1. the first boss is quite neat though would agree the level design is garbage (the first level is actually a dumpster for electronics)

graphics wise it looks nice, runs well too.
but yeah, garbage game is garbage.

    1. there seems to be a trend with bad sales and demos
      Dishonored 1 sold well–no demo
Dishonored 2 sold badly–demo after the game is optimized

  2. I played the game. It was pretty fun, combat takes a while to get used to, but story is horsesh** and gameplay gets kind of tedious after a while. 5/7.
