Epic Games has announced that Fortnite will receive a new Performance Mode on PC tomorrow. This Performance Mode will be selectable through the in-game settings menu and will offer “significant performance gains by trading out visual quality to lower memory usage and lighten the load on CPU and GPU.”
Basically, this is a mode for all those with mid-tier and low-tier hardware. Those gaming on high-end PC systems won’t obviously need it.
As Epic Games stated:
“For players already on low scalability settings or less powerful hardware, this mode will allow the game to run better than ever before and maintain a smoother framerate.”
Needless to say that PC gamers can already lower their settings so that they can improve the game’s performance on their systems. However, this mode will automate this whole procedure. In other words, it will be essential for all new PC newcomers. It’s not meant for the die-hard PC gamers.
Lastly, Epic Games has shared the following PC configs and the benefits the Performance Mode brings to them.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
