Fortnite has passed 20 million players

Epic Games has announced that Fortnite now has over 20 million players. This is mainly due to the free to play Battle Royale mode that has been recently released on all platforms.

What’s really interesting here is that Epic Games has managed to double its playerbase in just a month. Back in October, the team revealed that Fortnite had passed 10 million players.

Fortnite: Battle Royale is a PvP mode for Fortnite that puts 100-players on a giant map with destructible environments. In this mode, players will combine their Fortnite building and combat skills to be the last one standing.

Those interested can download it from Epic’s Games Launcher. You can also read our first impressions of it here.

    1. And it’s the only advantage it has over PUBG. I like its optimization, but visualization for 7 years kids… it’s just disgusting

      1. PUBG visuals far from great… Seriously just looks like they ported all their crappy assets from Real Virtuality engine into Unreal engine 4 and it doesn’t look good at all.

    2. To be fair it seems most Unreal Engine 4 games especially ones that aren’t made by Epic seem to run like crap and Fortnite’s graphics are more stylized and less demanding.

      1. Just because I have scurvy, a wooden leg, an eye patch, a talking parrot, 1700 century style clothing, commute to work by ship, and plunder and kill everything when I am in town, doesn’t mean I am a pirate!

  1. Thant’s where the money is, right Epic? Seems like it’s more cost-effective to make kiddies games rather then spend resources on critically acclaimed arena shooter (Unreal Tournament, nah never heard of it).

  2. this is where money is for pc gaming free to play microtransactions subscripions this is all pc gaming is about all single player games are ruined by pirates team fortress LoL WoW this lol
