    1. But why though,? How would that scenario happening impact ur life in any way?
Wouldn’t it be better to just ignore the game and concentrate on stuff you enjoy?
Wishing for it to be destroyed because you don’t like it, just seems really unncessary IMO.

      1. Because the fact that this is such a massive sucess impact the whole industry ? Just look at how many battle royale games and modes have been release ever since PUBG and this exploded, if you can’t see how this impact the general industry then i’m sorry you are just blind.

          1. Not a great loss black ops 3 campaign was the worst one they ever did it due to it being tailored for co op.

        1. Fair enough but in my opinion there are still a lot of games that have not taken on the Battle Royale. So far I think only the really popular shooters like CoD have tried to do this.

On the other hand we’ve seen games like Spider-man, Sekiro, Doom, God of War, Resident Evil, Yakuza, Divinity, BotW, Mario odyssey and Maker, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hitman 2, Monster Hunter, Tomb Raider, Control, Metro Exodus and Devil May Cry 5(Just to name a few.). The industry seems fine to me(I think Loot boxes are the biggest threat to the industry.)

I don’t know, to me the only games that have been affected by Battle Royale are the Call of Duties of the world.

          1. Wtf are you even on ? Most of the games you quoted were already on deep development or launched before PUBG even became a thing, and outside of MH that can be fully played alone but have a major focus on coop play all of them are single-player games .

I mean out of the top of my head Paladins, Dying Light, Fallout 76 Battlerite, STALKER even Civilization VI for god’s sake and i bet that if you search for it you could find a lot more.

So to say that “only the really popular shooters like CoD have tried to do this” is naive at best.

          2. I appreciate your opinion, thanks for sharing.

Well, I know CoD changed their design to incorporate Battle Royale, so if Battle Royale was such prevalent thing, then the rest would follow.
Also WTF is even Paladins, Battlerite and STALKER. Only people who play battle royales would play those games.

As far as I know, Dying Light had a strong single player system and the royale thing came in waay late as part of the many modifications the devs made for the game. It was never part of the plan.

I’ll give Fallout 76, but that’s hot garbage, so who even cares.

So, at least give me an example of an upcoming main stream game(Thats not CoD), that is going to come out with Battle Royale.

          3. Dude, Paladins is an hero shooter, Battlerite is an top down arena shooter, STALKER is an SP survival horror FPS. How those games have anything to do with Battle-royale ?

What if Dying Light had a strong single player system ? What does that has to do with an DLC about battle royale ? The fact that it was never part of the plan it’s exaclty my point, instead of making an decent DLC that would make sense for the game even if it had an MP-Focus they decided to make an stand alone battle royale mode that had nothing to do with the game, and if you think something similar is not coming with Dying Light 2, again you are naive.

          4. No idea about those games you mentioned. Figured you name dropped them, because we were talking about Battle Royale games.
As for Dying light I know for a fact, that they released a fully fleshed out DLC called the Following, that introduced new characters, new areas, new gampeplay mechanics, and none of them had anything to do with Battle royale.
The Battle Royale was just a fun feature they added.

Also, maybe you can give me examples of upcoming games that have been influenced by Fortnite and the battle royale genre(any game other than CoD)

          5. But it’s not an feature it’s an stand alone DLC, but even if it was an feature it would not make sense and it would take development time of other aspects of the game.

Mavericks: Proving Grounds, PlanetSide Arena, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 also Fortnite, since Fortnite jumped on the bandwagon of battle-royale genre after the huge sucess that PUBG made.

So yeah, even the biggest sucess right now on the genre is an game that basically droped it’s original vision in order to run after the trend.

          6. I don’t know Bruv, all the games you mentioned seem like they have a very specific niche and for a game like STALKER 2 it seems it can be enhanced by a Royale.

But In my opinion, it doesn’t seem like most developers have been influenced by Battle Royale as much, especially if you consider that the ones that did, didn’t really succeed(Just saw the Royale of Dying light has mostly negative reviews).

        2. If you narrow your vision, you’ll suffer.
Otherwise, look at how many non-royale titles are released everyday.

          1. Yeah, because the gaming industry, dosen’t have an precedent of adopting bad trends at all right ?

If you narrow your vision, you’ll suffer.
Otherwise, look at how many titles whitout loot-boxes are released everyday.

          2. Yes, I’m aware of that.
But in the dev industry there’s a lot of people like you and me who hates royale games, so they do games in lots of different styles for us to play. And for them too, of course.
It’s not like in 10 years will only have BR games to play. It will, of course, start a trending (already did), but if you have more than 15 years playing you know this things don’t last. Only a couple of them survive with the fans and they’re not a problem for the whole industry. See LOL and Dota as good examples.

          3. Oh, and if I can give you some tip (dunno if you like indies), there’s this game called “Far Lone Sails” wich is absolutelly gorgeous and hella fun to play. I miss this when it first came to PC, but am playing now. It’s a nice game.

        3. but how is that fortnites fault? its like blaming the cinema industry because of superhero movies which i detest but cant blame em if thats what people like. wanna hate anyone hate on the people not the game

      2. It affects me because it affects my hobby due to its popularity devs are trying to copy that gameplay genre instead of being original.

And im a father i dont like the fact kids plays it, when i was a kid i played games like mario 64,spyro the dragon and pokemon on gbc and even when i got my hand on violent games they had far more substance and depth than fortnite will ever had, this game poison the minds of kids and parents have no choice but to follow through because their kid have to play what the other kids are playing or he will be uncool.

So yea i had no issue with pubg apart the fact its full of bugs and battle royal style is just not fun imo…but fortnite is cancer.

And no its not because its popular, minecraft was popular and did not enjoy it, but in my opinion it was a much better game for kids.

        1. First of all ,thanks for the civil response.

I understand that you had a different experience playing games as a child, but surely you realize that the grown ups around you said the same thing about the Pokemons and Marios at the time(that they were “poisoning your minds”).

What you consider to be substance and depth is vastly different from what the generation that plays fortnite consider to be substantial. I personally think we should not be attempting to tell them whats cool or not. Let the kids enjoy what they want to enjoy.

Also as a parent, don’t think the presentation of Fortnite is more appealing than letting your kids play games where they kill people and they explode into gory bits, or something similar? Its really weird to see you use the argument of a parent and then say its because its not as violent as u remember games being. To me the violence in the game is very very sterilized.

          1. You, sir, are speaking the truth!
Wich is considered offensive around here, so take care of yourself.
I think the same, it’s not meant for me but I can see this as a good game (for its purpose). I remember when I used to play Tibia and was ridicularized over the internet. Still, the game was a huge success and fun af.
Nowadays I only play racing games online but I understand the funny stuff around games like this one.
            Play and let play!

      1. not sure if youre in the US but the US has the credit score which is very close to the system they want to use in china

but easier to bash foreign countries ofc :p

          1. ” totalitarian SOCIAL oppression, radical human socialengineering”
            huh?

the credit scores will not let you get good loans, house purchases and the such
