NVIDIA Reflex 2

First NVIDIA Reflex 2 Tech Demo Available For Download

In January 2025, NVIDIA announced Reflex 2. Since then, though, we haven’t seen it being implemented in any game. Thankfully, there is now a tech demo that you can download to try it.

This tech demo is not an official one. It comes from modder PureDark, who has been behind some truly amazing DLSS 4 Mods.

Now, contrary to his DLSS 4 Mods, this Reflex 2 Tech Demo is free to all. This means that everyone can download and try it.

NVIDIA has stated that Reflex 2 is only supported on the RTX 50 series GPUs. However, it seems that even RTX 20 GPUs can run this demo. In fact, I was able to run it on my NVIDIA RTX 3080. So yes, this does work.

The main feature of Reflex 2 is called Frame Warp. Frame Warp makes your game feel much more responsive, helping you aim faster and react quicker. It works by taking the newest camera position from the CPU and adjusting the last frame made by the GPU to match it. This happens right before the frame appears on your screen, so your latest mouse movements are shown instantly.

What’s interesting here is how the demo behaves when you enable Frame Warp at different framerates. With a 30FPS and a 60FPS cap, you will notice major visual issues when moving the camera. To eliminate these visual artifacts, you’ll need framerates over 100FPS. With a 100FPS cap, I could not spot major visual issues. With a 120FPS cap, things get even better.

So, right now, it seems that Frame Warp is closely tied to the in-game framerate. This means that this tech may only be useful to those with a high-end GPU. If a game runs below 100FPS, Reflex 2 may introduce additional visual issues.

I don’t know whether NVIDIA plans to fix this. For all we know, this tech demo could be based on a really early version of Reflex 2. After all, Reflex 2 has not been made available to any game as of yet. Nevertheless, this is our first taste of it.

You can download the demo from this link.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

NVIDIA Reflex 2 | Introducing New Frame Warp Technology

  1. Sounds like it requires engine integration. I'd only be interested if I could inject it myself because I use lossless scaling.
    Nvidia is trash

They can't fix it, because then it would defeat the whole purpose of this Reflex 2 tech, which is Frame Warp.

It needs a high framerate to work correctly, often over 100 FPS, without introducing any visual artifacts.

If the FPS is very low, then the difference between the old and new camera positions is going to be much larger, which can lead to aggressive warping.

More "warp" would then be required to correct/alter the image, which can result in visible stretching, and/or visual artifacts.

In fact, by NVIDIA's own internal testing, running some FPS games with frames below 100 FPS resulted in major visual glitches/inconsistencies.

  3. I would be interested to use it if they add it to Counter Strike 2..the only competitive game I play these days.
