Square Enix today announced that Final Fantasy IX is now available on Steam. According to the press release, the Steam version comes with new features, such as full STEAM Trading cards, high-definition movies and character models, new cloud save feature allows players to back up save data to play across other compatible devices, auto save function and seven all-new optional booster features.
Final Fantasy IX tells the story of the bandit Zidane Tribal who plans to kidnap the princess of Alexandria, Garnet Til Alexandros the 17th, with the troupe of thieves known as Tantalus.
“An unlikely series of events set Zidane, Garnet, the shy yet powerful black mage Vivi Ornitier, the loyal knight Adelbert Steiner, and other memorable characters on an epic journey as they learn about themselves, the secrets of the Crystal, and a malevolent force that threatens to destroy their world.”
Final Fantasy IX is now available on STEAM at a discounted price of £12.79 / €16.79 until April 20th!

One of my (if not THE) favorite games. Playing this on my Playstation was pure magic and replaying it again on the Vita was almost as thrilling. Too bad Square doesn’t make games like this anymore

Sadly it’s a mobile port. It says it all when the Android PSX emulation version is better than the official release.
