Far Cry: Primal Officially Announced, Releases In March 2016 – Key Features + First Screenshots

Ubisoft has officially announced Far Cry: Primal for PC. The game – which will be released on February 23rd on current-gen consoles and in March 2016 on PC – in which you will play as Takkar, a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of your group. You have one goal: survival in a world where you are the prey.

Yeap, you read that right. According to the official press release, the PC version will be slightly delayed, thus following the example of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.

Here are the game’s key features:

– Grow your tribe and hone your skills to lead your people.
– Ally yourself with a cast of memorable characters who can help push back the dangers of the wild.
– Face enemy tribes who will do anything to eradicate you and your allies.
– Defeat predators and humans, and rise to become the apex predator.
– Stalk enemy outposts and plan your attack using weapons and tools crafted from the bones of beasts you’ve killed.
– Master the element of fire to multiply your tactical options, setting your weapon on fire or scaring predators at night.
– Land the killing blow on the prey you’ve hunted across the plains. But beware, its scent may attract predators willing to fight you for the prize.
– The rich setting of the Stone Age only multiplies the amount of deadly weapons, dangerous threats and incredible stories that Far Cry is known for.
– Discover the majestic and savage land of Oros with its breathtaking valley of redwood forests, harsh taiga, and humid swamps where you can see Earth as it was before man laid claim to it.
– Oros teems with life from large herds of deer and vicious packs of dire-wolves to warring enemy tribes. It is ruled by megafauna such as sabretooth tigers and woolly mammoths, giant animals that dominated the Earth in the Stone Age and were feared by every other living being.

  1. wow I kinda waiting for this one, but scared about the optimization cause I dont want to be forced to buy it on ps4

    1. The good thing about using Dunia Engine is it’s mature and the developers almost know everything about it unlike AnvilNext

      the biggest problem with FC4 is the hitching from time to time when you’re driving and it was acceptable for most people

      But to be safe don’t pre-order the game and don’t buy it on day1

      1. well it wasn’t time to time it was all the time while driving on all kinds of hardwares, they fixed it after 6 patches and like a month or two.

  3. Is it using the Far Cry 4 map like Far Cry 3: Bood Dragon used the Far Cry 3 map?

    Anyway I would not have got it on February 23rd anyway because of Deux Ex: Mankind Divided, thank you for the few weeks delay, Ubisoft.

      1. It did lol. The whole game is build on recycled Far Cry 3 map. Don’t take me wrong its a cool thing they did this . I wish more game did this with other good games.

          1. Obviously not all of it but most of the assets and mechanics are lifted directly from Far Cry 3 and then they added the filter to make it look totally different than Far Cry 3. There is a good reason it is called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and not Far Cry: Blood Dragon.

          2. not “lol” you may think they reused the assets but inr eallity fc3 has atleast twice the assets and most of the guns were rebuilded from scratch or updated with high polycount.

            ubisoft has been reusing assets for years watchdogs, rainbow six vegas, future soldier and the last 2 splinter cell games re use the same 3d models

            Even rockstar re used that ship from max payne 3.

          3. Dude, it had entirely new assets. They copied and pasted them, but there was not much of the same. Your wrong, it’s OK.

          4. From on top it was an entirely new game but underneath it all it was essentially Far Cry 3. Remove all the Far Cry 3 DNA from Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and you are left with no game. As I said before, this is not a bad thing and I wish more games did this instead of selling us expensive & crap 2 hour DLCs.

    1. you know, you are correct here most people complain its the same game all the time, now they took away the guns they dont like it. Personally i am fine with another far cry like fc4 but with a diffirent setting.

      When i heard the game will ahve elephants i was impressed but the actual game the elephants where the minority, seems like here avoiding or hunting big beasts is the main idea of the game.

  6. Hey Ubi… Why don’t you take your “phone em in” annual franchises and place them in the darkest regions of your company’s collective assh*le. You have moments of brilliance with titles like “Child of Light” and then go ahead and sh*t the bed with most everything else. GG

    1. hey there mr intelligent dude you are incorrect again, the problem isnt that ubisoft is making one game after the other and annualize them but that they have a bunch of people who recycle scripts over all the games in order to make them faster, so any open world game comes out is designed the same way and plays the same, child of light, valiant hearts and the rest of the 2d crap are made by a smaller indie studio ubisoft got for that specific reason. To make such “indie” 2d platoformer 2deep4u games/

  7. That experimwent can work, but with how result, theres hard to sy unless you played it:) But that in march 2016. Idea with mamooths and other stone age animals is not so fresh, where ARK tooks lot of fans, but they try so let it be. A fresh look have Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, which shows how developer makes revolution in own series. Naw game is bigger, non-linear, upgradet with crafting and lots of toys to play with. So its another FPS worth of waiting, but till next year:)
