Bethesda has announced that Fallout 4 will receive a free weekend on the PC. This free weekend will begin on February 1st and will last until February 4th. And as with most free weekends, if players choose to purchase anything they play during the Free Weekend, their save data will carry over.
As you may have guessed, this will be your opportunity to test Bethesda’s RPG, as well as all the mods that are available to it. We’ve covered a lot of Fallout 4 mods in the past few months, so we strongly suggest giving them a go during this free weekend.
A really interesting mod is the Fallout 4 Hardcore Rebalance mod. This mod overhauls the game’s combat mechanics, improves NPC combat AI and removes bullet sponges. Another similar mod is Fallout 4 Horizon 1.4 mod which overhauls the game’s gameplay mechanics, redesigns systems & enhances the overall experience. However, we are not certain whether these mods are ideal for those that have not played the game yet.
In order to improve the game’s visuals, PC gamers can try the following mods (or you can head over at Nexusmods and start downloading the ones you think are worth your time):

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Has the “Ressurection’ MOD being removed from the Nexus website ? It says:
….The mod you were looking for couldn’t be found….
Maybe now I can find my son, Shawn….oh look, a dog….
Hey,guys Amnesia Collection is free on Humble bundle.
John just posted a new DSOG article on this as well.
Makes no difference to me, as it doesn’t work properly at all on my high end system, so it shall remain uninstalled forever more.
What are your system/PC specs ? Just asking…
i7-6700k (non OC’d), GTX 1080ti 11gb, 16gb DDR4 (2400Mhz), 3 Samsung Pro Evo SSD’s and 1 WD 2 TB Black.
Display is an Acer Predator 164hz G-sync monitor (though it’s default is 144hz and I cap it at 60 for Fallout/Skyrim).
I can run OG Skyrim and Skyrim special edition perfectly fine, as well as a ton of other games, yet F4 just runs like gutter trash whenever I go to certain areas or the big cities (like the power plant you have to visit). I’ve tried Vanilla F4 and F4 with performance mods and still the results are the same, so I gave up on that game.
Nice specs, by the way. The GTX 1080Ti is a beast of a GPU ! Wish I could afford one though, lol.
I’m still Gaming on 1080P, so my RX 480 GPU pretty much does the job, along with the i7 4790 CPU.
I have no plans to upgrade my monitor right now, till the GPU prices come down a bit.
Right now, it’s total chaos with regards to the GPU pricing, because of the so-called MINING craze. Hope this ends soon with the next-gen GPUs ?!
Happy Gaming.
Thanks. I’ve had it for a while now, but I don’t think it’s that beast of a GPU. I mean, yeah I can handle a majority of games near ultra settings at 1440p, and keep near to 100fps, but games like GTA V act like they are the enxt Crysis, really just throw me off playing some AAA games, primarily due to optimisation levels.
Switcher 3 runs like a dream for me compared to the likes of GTA V for one example.
I was gaming at 1080p for around 4 years, so I decided to hit the new sweet spot for me. I won’t be touching 4k until it’s fully widespread, supported and much cheaper (plus more 144hz+HDR monitors hitting the market as well).
Yeah, this year is not looking good for those wanting to upgrade RAM, SSD and GPU parts, that’s for sure/ Hopefully the bitcoin bubble bursts and stays that way, so it’ll allow people to resume building their gaming/editing PC’s.
