      1. New? EA F1 has had an annual release since 2000 to 2003, and again from 2009 until now (back with EA since 2021).

  1. All the previous times VR failed, at least there was some honesty about it, and the fact it failed was recognized.

Now people are pretending like VR is still going strong, even though this time it failed more spectacularly than ever, with Sony, Valve and Facebook throwing billions at VR and having 0 traction. Sony seems to actually recognise VR’s failure, and stopped all VR headset production and all VR investment.

This is not the first time Valve has no clue about the market. Valve’s SteamOS machines failed just as spectacularly as Valve’s VR headsets, and Windows handhelds and Nintendo Switch are easily outselling Valve’s Steam Decks.

    1. Do you have some data to back-up your claim that Windows handhelds are outselling the Steam Deck?

Because everything I have seen so far suggests the complete opposite…

        1. Unfortunately, I can’t share any internal figures, but there is at least some public data available which tells another story:

For better or worse, Reddit is one of the most visited websites, thus looking at how many members a certain subreddit has is a good indicator to gauge public interest.

          Here are the current numbers:

          ASUS ROG Ally https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5d6354cb38bf56071f1004444c1177b025af4b768672627ab4718c55d35c5f63.png

And the biggest contender, MSI Claw https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cbd4e72b222cdc511eea68b27fd341ecbd53656637051500c4f1d0e86e27765a.png

Now compare these numbers to the Steam Deck https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1fbf711d55a01fc9ae65ed9f30cc8e9212833e758d0a5fdc07f18ecdea1b926e.png

The Steam Deck is easilly outselling all of them combined, trust me…

    2. VR tech hasn’t failed in the hardcore sim niche market where VR objectively makes the games better to play and the customers are willing to spend money for something good great.

What killed the VR was the casual market no being something to build off of but the main market, the all in one headsets became the target for every single VR game made.

Facebook totally destroyed valve in the VR market place by making VR cheap and contained but they also killed the VR core gaming market itself by making it a disposable gimmick.

Almost every single game that was released on steam VR has received downgraded patches as they released their games to target lowest end popular all-in-one oculus and other headsets. It killed Sony’s VR as well because every third party game released for it is still targeting the lowest end all-in-one headsets and they are all just ports from that.

  2. eh, funny enough the game is more entertaining then the faf soap opera theater on the tracks now with sicko tranneemans driving weirdos. New Star GP FTW.
