Dune Awakening feature-2

Dune: Awakening is powered by Unreal Engine 5, will take advantage of Lumen & Nanite, gets first gameplay trailer

Funcom has shared some new tech details about its upcoming online multiplayer survival Dune game, Dune Awakening. According to the devs, Dune Awakening will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and it will take full advantage of both Nanite and Lumen. And below, you can find its first gameplay trailer.

As with all pre-release trailers and videos, this one does not represent the quality of the final product. However, it will give you an idea of what Funcom aims to create.

Dune Awakening promises to combine the grit and creativity of sandbox survival games with the social interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game.

Players will be able to craft their identity and build their prowess, from deep character creation to skills and abilities. Then, they’ll be able to search the deserts for massive spice blows to harvest the most valuable resource in the universe. Moreover, they’ll be able to create a guild and grow it into a House Minor by allying yourself with one of the Great Houses.

Like most other games, Dune Awakening will have combat, experience points, a crafting system, as well as a base-building system.

Dune: Awakening will be using a third-person perspective, and promises to have amazing environments. And yes, there will also be sandstorms and sandworms.

There is currently no ETA on when this game will come out. However, you can go ahead and sign up for its upcoming beta phase.
