Bethesda has announced some of the key features that will be included in the next update for DOOM. According to the publisher, DOOM’s next update will include several improvements and will introduce a new Photo Mode, as well as a Classic DOOM weapon placement/view model option.
Here are the key features of the next update for DOOM:
- Added Photo Mode for taking in-game screenshots
- Added Classic DOOM weapon placement/view model option (1st person view option)
- Added new Snapmap features (including skybox windows) and AI pathing and logic fixes.
- Fixed various bugs including players accidentally triggering Dev Mode and Trophy/Achievement bugs (IDKFA, Every Nook and Cranny).
In addition, id Software has released an update for DOOM that brings a number of multiplayer improvements.
This latest update (that was released yesterday) includes rebalancing of some multiplayer weapons based on players’ feedback: the Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, and Combat Shotgun. Moreover, this update reduces the wait time between matches to 60 seconds.
Last but not least, via this update, both Clan Arena and Freeze Tag will now require the winning team to complete 5 rounds in order to win the match.

No word about Vulkan.
or sli..
What? Vulkan? What? We said – ? Oh, we did say…..
Uh, yeah, it’s coming. When? F*ck do I know, soon! Yeah, soon.
Go away now, we’re counting our money. Shoo!
It was supposed to be a partnered deal with nvidia’s 1000 series so it has to come out soon. It’s strange that they are quiet about it even after the GPUs have already launched. Then again even the 1070 costs 500 bucks. Maybe the deal is that Doom has to feature Vulkan by the time the 1000 series is complete, that is when 1060 and 1050 are available and normal people start taking these cards seriously.
Vulkan?
Photo mode… oh hell yes!
And still no Mod Support… I’d never expect it from id and Bethesda of all devs.
And with Denuvo cancer, it’s a spit to the face to what DOOM meant…
Why are you waiting for mod support? They have never said mod support is coming.
Really? It’s exactly what I’ve been expecting ever since their Paid Mods initiative tanked.
“Added new Snapmap features (including skybox windows) ”
Does that mean we can make open areas?
Probably not, Imo its just Window prop with sky effect.
The real question is will they remove 2 weapons limit from snap map?
truly modern game devs are making games around social features and level bars than creation and freedom
Modern devs are making what is perceived to sell. All things considered Doom 2016 is a good deal between HaloCOD appeal for consoles and retaining a skillful singleplayer mode for PC. And snapmap existing at all puts it at the good end of the “creation and freedom” scale. Snapmap has its flaws but it’s the best map making tool for a shooter since FC2/3. The Far Cry games had decent tools but noone would play your maps because multiplayer was terrible. Then there was Shootmania with its boring generic assets, also a miss.
Witcher 3? 😛
But yeah, exception to the now standard rule.
Problem is, while SnapMap is nice for the beginner user, it’s a joke for any experienced modder. They don’t offer a choice, they just assume we’re all retards & go with that (as usual).
Kill yourself… no seriously do it, you are a pathetic troll. I would like to know what you dont find garbage, freaking troll.
Except SP is amazing. It’s MP that’s terrible.
Rather them focus on just getting the game working properly first, As in multi gpu support, Vulkan, Less CTD’s.
What’s the point adding new features if the game is still buggy.
Please fix key bindings :/
After the success of uncharted 4 photo mode.. looks like every other dev will be following to have photo mode in their games. It has become a trend in gaming now.
We want Vulkan.
>AI pathing and logic fixes
NICE!!!! Optimism restored to some extent. They still need to remove the two weapon limit though. Snapmap is not fit to create multiplayer maps (the rooms don’t lend themselves to it, not interconnected enough and not enough open spaces) and the community to play them wouldn’t be there any way. Snapmap is all about singleplayer, and for singleplayer we need all weapons. And JUMP PADS!
>this update reduces the wait time between matches to 60 seconds
Should reduce it to 30 tbh. If people want to dive into the customization stuff they should leave the server for that.
>rebalancing of some multiplayer weapons based on players’ feedback: the Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, and Combat Shotgun
Chaingun needs a slight nerf. Rockets and Combat Shotgun? Not sure there are changes needed there.
If you say you. With a name like that I think you’re just here to troll
