Doom 3 source code packaged, tested and releasing in the coming days

Great news for everyone as John Carmack informed us – via its Twitter account – that Doom 3’s source code is packaged and fully tested. iD Software is now waiting on the final lawyer clearance and the package will then get released. This basically means that the source code will come out in the coming days and we can’t wait to see what the modding and indie developers will come up with.
As Carmack tweeted:
“doom 3 source is packaged and tested, we are waiting on final lawyer clearance for release.”
In case you were unaware of, the source code is given for free. Yeap, everyone can download it and create whatever they want to. Way to go iD, that’s the spirit!
