Diablo 2 Remaster

Diablo 2: Median XL mod releases on January 18th, brings new enemies, areas, skills and more

The team behind the Diablo 2: Median XL mod has announced that this brand new mod will release on January 18th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the team has also released a new gameplay trailer that you can find below, showcasing the key features that will be implemented in it.

Diablo 2: Median XL will feature new skills, new monsters, new bosses, new areas and new items. What’s also really interesting is that this mod will be powered by a new engine that will also come with a new inventory, support for high resolutions and a bigger inventory.

Among the new features that have been added are also boss events, individual cooldowns, map reveal, new hotkeys, notifications, automatic pickup of items (hell bloody yeah) and there will be no death penalty.

Diablo 2: Median XL sounds really cool and will make a lot of Diablo fans happy, especially now that Diablo 4 is so far away.

Enjoy!

  1. It is always great to see releases like this from the modding community. One of my favorite parts about being a PC gamer is seeing all of the great content produced by the community. It is truly a breath of fresh air.

      1. I’ve tried a bunch.

Torchlight has that WoW cartoony art style I absolutely hate.
        Grim Dawn was meh.
Path of Exile is always-online which is a big no-no for me.

Frankly, the only aRPG that got me closest to the fun I had with Diablo II was Titan Quest. I know the same guys made Grim Dawn but that game just didn’t grab me and I can’t quite put my finger on why.

  2. I’m one of those saps who’s never played or owned this game. If I get the Diablo II Battle Chest retail box set, does that activate on BattleNET? Blizzard wants $20 for digital copies with the expansion, which seems expensive to me.

  3. All that and they couldn’t be bothered to use the run animation instead of the walking one for fast movement.
