  1. Hey guys, remember Guardians of the Galaxy?
Do people still think Bungie is alive at this point?

    1. I think they took a wrong turn, ended up in 2015, or something…..

You know, that point in time wherein futuristic Sci-Fi Shooters were actually a thing people wanted?

      1. I wonder. I mean, between Call of Duty, Andromeda, & the upcoming undoubtedly lackluster PREY, will the market actually welcome yet-another mediocre (at best) Sci-Fi entry, or, will it (arguably more likely) feel as if it’s already digested one too many of those, & instead take a hard pass in order to avoid barfing due to over-consumption?

        😮

After all, everything seems to indicate this is going to be one tough year for Sci-Fi games.

        1. ” the upcoming undoubtedly lackluster PREY,”

PFFFT AHAHAHHAHAH sure, compared to what? Bioshock? That was lacklaster, fallout 4 was lackslaster lets not even talk about andromeda.

          1. Bioshock? Which one, original? 2? Infinite? Infinite was a joke, 1 & 2 are classics. Agreed on the other two however – what’s your point, though? Bioshock has a “relation” to System Shock, which you allege is the spiritual inspiration for “Dishonored in Space”, whereas the other two have no relation to it at all.

Unless now you’re actually trying to say this ridiculous joke of a reboot is going to be a better game than Bioshock “because it has more System Shock elements than Bioshock”? >.>

        2. Well, DOOM sold itself overwhelmingly on gameplay, rather than story, to be fair. When you do that, your game can be about just about anything, including a Sci-Fi shooter set on mars, that has you going around blowing up demons.

I mean, yes, it’s the exception to the argument at hand, but it’s also a different case, compared to the other games mentioned, which are trying to sell themselves on both gameplay and story.

Indeed, though I’m also curious to see how much of a market there is for WW2 shooters, these days.

          1. CoD has indeed been on the decline for years, but apparently there’s a massive sales gap between other non-Blops CoD titles, & IW, which indicates that overall, IW was received extremely poorly.

Like, your average CoD title in the last few years sold between 20-30 million copies (Blops). IW, by comparison, has so far only sold something, like, 12 million, or so.

As for AAAs – good point. Both, I suppose. I mean, it’s a very case-by-case basis thing, I’d say; Witcher 3 sold itself on both, whereas Andromeda wh*red itself out on the “BioWare” & “Mass Effect” labels, alone, instead.

        1. Hell no, unless they actually manage to do something interesting with it, which would shock me to no end, to be honest.

        2. May I answer too? Yes I want this. I want to have the choice to play the game on PC if I want. Same goes for every single game that ever gets released on console. F*ck all the others who don’t.

          1. On that, agreed. Yes to a PC version of just about everything, regardless of quality (f*ck console exclusives, period.), no to the general idea of actually buying Destiny 2, however.

Because, yeah, freedom of choice <3

          2. I haven’t decided either for or against Destiny yet since I haven’t seen the gameplay and the series is uncharted territory to me. If it looks interesting once the gameplay trailers are out, I’ll think about it. I’m still finishing up Borderlands in the meantime.

          3. I like it. Spent more than 1K hours in BL2. Story sucks, but gameplay is solid. Definitely requires a lot of skill on the hardest modes. On solo at least.

          4. “gameplay is solid.”

            …… >.<

Interesting note about the harder difficulties, though. I'll have to remember that.

          5. I don’t use that tool except when farming rare bosses like Vermivorous. Also just curious, what class and level are you on in BL2?

          6. Well, to be fair, Co-Op was a fad back then publishers were into because they thought it would increase their revenue by giving the pirates incentives “not to pirate the game”, or to “buy the Co-Op DLC” or whatever-the-f*ck.

I guess what with that moronic fad all but gone, they didn’t feel like wasting the effort on something most people never cared about, in the first place 😛

Good point, though, I always forget which games have co-op, since I barely ever bother with it (lol).

          7. this mite sway you not to buy it.ZERO content for 1 year on pc and xbox due to sonys marketing rights.this includes all dlc.

      2. I’d love more sci-fi shooters, the problem is that most of these sci-fi shooters don’t have fun with their setting. It’s always generic “futuristic” versions of modern guns, generic modern warfare squad tactics, and you’re just an generic dude shooting at other generic dudes.

Now everyone’s getting tired of them because no one’s doing them right.

        1. Well, that’s a largely standing problem with Sci-Fi in general, but yeah, I see your point. It’s like the thing about how aliens are always either humanoid, bugs, or squid-octopus-like (because Japs).

      1. Better be top quality games, because I hate the absolute garbage Steam has been getting over the years.

        1. LMFAO, consider changing your platform of choice, tool. Go play Nintendo or whatever. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

          1. I make joke comments on articles for games I don’t for laughs, which mainly come from r*tards like you who sperg out at the slightest provocation.

          2. Well if that’s the case, let me reassure you that I get “provoked” for laughs as well. I hope you keep “joking” like this so I can really tell you how “provoked” I can get about your jokes. Just for laughs you know.

          1. The claim was “the more games on PC the better”, the implication being regardless of quality. How would more bad games benefit us? I see only on possible consequence, if any: Some people get fooled by marketing to spend their money on those bad games resulting in losses for good games. It’s that, or nothing. And if it does nothing then it is also not “better”, it’s just irrelevant. More bad games either do damage or they do nothing.

          2. One does not, you old bean counter. You’ll get different ratings for a game depending on who you ask to rate it. That doesn’t change the fact that some games will get bad ratings by almost everyone. The trend becomes more pronounced if you get a better sample of judges, say people who know the genre to some degree.

          3. So as you said, what constitutes a bad game cannot be an objective matter. Subjective opinions do not and should not determine the barrier to entry. As long as the game is not a blatant asset flip or something, I do not see why it should not be on the platform. All games (which do not include asset flips and stolen materials) deserve to be on PC. Personal opinions should never be a hindrance. As for Destiny itself, the reviews for the game are pretty good, which means your idea of a “bad game” doesn’t apply to it as per your own logic.

Oh and as a side note, I suggest changing that ever so “polite” tone of yours while responding. You’d not want me to reciprocate the feeling by being even more polite in return, trust me.

        1. Sony had exclusivity in Destiny 1. It was just some lame DLC. All the Expansion Packs came out at the same time.

I think I’m good waiting 1 year for crappy gun DLC which I’ll probably not even buy in the end.

          1. yea sony had exclusivity in destiny but it wasnt a year wait for all content on xbox tho.

    1. more games for the platform is always better, you have the choice to not play it. I wont be playing either but its good that more companies are seeing PC as a viable platform. This is nothing but good for everyone involved, those who want it can play it, devs make more money and bring future titles to PC and gamers have a choice on which platform to play on. Stop being such an elitist, you make all of us look bad.

    2. The real peasants are haters like you. Don’t like, don’t buy, but go off with that attitude.

  2. Genuinely curious to see the reception this is going to get.
Can’t say I’m particularly excited for Activision shenanigans but “eh”, moar games on PC I guess.

    5000th comment!
    *cue Sonic 1UP jingle*

That’s all folks, it’s been real, it’s been fun, but it hasn’t been real fun.
If I don’t manage to kill myself in the next months, I’ll be back to the filth of this comment section on a later date.

Until then, wish you all the best. (°?° )

    Cheers!

    1. God damn Banana Republic’s cutting off your Internet access again, eh?

      (IT HASN’T BEEN FUN? ALRIGHT, FINE THEN – F U 2!)

  3. “Get access to both Expansion I and Expansion Il” fck off. got to tease that overpriced dlc before the game is out or showing gameplay even. i’ll wait for the $5 goty kinguin edition.

      1. yep could be longer then a year wait.if dlc launches after 6 months then its a year and 6 months for content since launch on pc/xbox.

        1. by the time the dlc is launched on pc the game will be dead.4 days to get to max lvl and a year wait for any content=dead game.

          1. it mite be dead on pc 4 days after launch when you hit max lvl…lol.even tho no content for a year or more ill get it on xbox ill get my $60 out out of it.

ill get it on xbox because the ps4 controller sucks.

  4. Looking forward to it. I got ps4 just for destiny/exclusives. Happy to see it will have real mouse and keyboard support soon

  5. “Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force,
led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion”

    Alternatively,

‘Humanity’s last worthwhile gaming platform has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force,
led by Eric Hirshberg, the imposing commander of the brutal Activision.’

      1. It’s pretty tough to get excited about games anymore. I remember when you could just buy a game and get the whole damn thing. Expansion packs were at least a good value because they came out WAY AFTER the base game came out, and as a result of the success of the base game.

CDPR is doing it right releasing expansion packs that are just as good or better than the base games they’re attached to.

        1. “Expansion packs were at least a good value because they came out WAY AFTER the base game came out, and as a result of the success of the base game.”

Also, because the meaning of the word “expansion pack” hadn’t yet been degraded to mean “new content; 4 maps, 3 weapons, 2 vehicles – $15” which basically to nothing but a glorified DLC pack.

  6. They should release the first one on PC. I hate having to get into something in an incomplete manner. Hopefully they’ll put out a Complete Edition or something when the Scorpio comes out.

  7. First one was below average but good that it’s coming to PC. they should have released more content for the first one and supported that in years to come instead of killing it for the sequel.

Get ready to pay 60$ for 1/3 of the game.

    1. 1/3?? then you weren’t following the news around this game, apparently every DLC was like a mandatory PAID UPDATE and there was 4-5 of them each $30-40 if you bought the game Day 1 (and not when those DLCs were bundled in future disk releases). and then after those DLCs they added microtransaction even tho they promised they wont.

    2. what up kidddddd.dont forget 1 year wait for content on pc this includes dlc since its content….sony marketing rights.

  8. and with ZERO content for 1 year on the pc this includes all the dlc since its content.destiny died 2 years after launch and somy would say much sooner xbox has to wait as well….ps4 marketing rights

so pc games is it worth a buy know you have to wait for a year for any content..lmao
