DayZ To Be Powered By Infusion Engine, Dean Hall Spills The Beans

Dean Hall has officially revealed that DayZ will be powered by a new engine called Infusion. Infusion is being developed internally in the company and will replace the current Arma 3 engine that is being used for it. This engine change does not mean that Bohemia will code everything from scratch, so there is nothing to worry about (or at least that’s what Hall claims). Infusion Engine featured a better architecture than the previous engine, thus giving the development team a very robust platform to build on top of. 1. Hopefully they can take the clunkyness outta this game. Its a great concept and pretty fun, but the Arma engine just feels terrible.

  2. I’m really not a fan of the Real Virtuality Engine, hopefully this new Infusion Engine will be a lot better for what they are trying to accomplish.

  3. Sounds like a good idea to me. They have the money, certainly – this seems like the next step in the evolution of the studio. They started out as basically a modding team, and now they’re transitioning into a full-fledged game studio.

I’ve been holding off purchasing DayZ until it’s final version. When it gets here I hope it’s not a ghost town and that initial backers don’t abandon it because they had their fill and moved on.

As a community service I feel I should post this video (again):

  4. Another engine change? Shouldn’t this game be DONE by now? Or at least beta? It’s still a freaking *alpha*!

    1. It has only had one engine change. From the take on helicoper branch to “Infusion”.
You make it sound like it has went through loads. DayZ Standalone has only been in alpha for 7 months. Are you seriously saying they can create a game in 7 months Have you seen the size of the team?

    2. It has only went through one engine change and dayz standalone has only been in alpha for 7 months. Do you really think it takes 7 months to complete a game?
