Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.12 released, addresses vulnerability issue, fixes buffer overrun issue

CD Projekt RED has released a brand new update for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. According to the developers, patch 1.12 addresses the vulnerability that could be used as part of remote code execution.

In order to achieve this, this latest update fixes a buffer overrun issue. It also removes/replaces some non-ASLR DLLs.

CD Projekt RED is still working on the next big major update for the game. Here is hoping that this second big update will be better than Update 1.1.

As always, GOG, Steam and EGS will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.12 Release Notes

      1. funny part is they are usually the same people who rant and rave about every dark souls game. They own every broken piece of Sh*t Souls game and the one that was actually made PC (The Surge) is the one they bash the most. In closing, Don’t bother dudem if you purchased the game and enjoyed it, that’s all that matters. The game is full of Bugs, yes. I’ve encountered 2 game breaking bugs, just reloaded my last save and done. As messed up as the game is they also did a lot of things right that actually make when the game breaks not as bad. For example the auto saving, it’s as if hey knew the game would screw up so they gave it a save system that’s next level. but who knows man, there will always be people that have something to hate, i just wish CDPR didn’t lie their a$$e$ off because now they are just like the rest. Shame…

        1. This is the first time CDPR truly messed up, so I’m willing to give them a chance. They also released hotfix after hotfix, which is more than can be said than for EA or Ubish!t or Bugthesda (who leaves their games broken forever).

          1. I agree, but that didn’t have to lie and we know that will fix the game up really good and to perfection. But what’s with the lying man, we can’t defend that. And this wasn’t a mess up, they knowingly did what they did. Yes we know EA & Ubisoft is the worse but now CDPR along with their actions have joined them. They make it hard for us to defend them without looking like a totally fan idiot. These are the same reasons why I’d never ever buy any EA or a Ubisofts products. And if CDPR goes down the same path as those companies, then we have nothing more left.

          2. I was looking at it from a similar perspective to No Man’s Sky’s revival, but yeah, they shouldn’t have done it and if they do it again I won’t buy any future games from them.

        1. The fixed part of it and people complain about that. I mean all they really need to do is get rid of a couple of bugs and maybe do some work on AI and the game will be exactly what I was expecting minus the first act getting cut up completely.

      2. They are only fixing the bugs that created with the previous patches and stuff that people discovered when it shouldnt be there to begin with if proper testing was done like the savelimit crap or dlls been vulnerable.
Im still waiting for the game to have physics and AI from this decade and not just being an scripted mess made with spaghetti lines of code..

        1. Same. Within a couple months it should be much better right now It’s pretty great on a 3080 I’ll say that much.

          1. Dont put an high end videocard as an example of what you need to enjoy this…you arent making the game any favor and pretty visuals dont replace good gameplay.

    1. Well, the Witcher 4 rumors are out there. ANd financially it makes sense. The real question is what CDPR’s priority remains. Cyberpunk is still only a couple months old. Do they invest over a year of patching and DLC to it like Witcher 3? Are there changes in their staff structure to allow for both? Lots of unknowns right now.

    1. Beta test ends in Q4/2021 with the full release expected some time in Q2/3 2022 although this is not confirmed might take longer

    1. no, its broken at its core they would have to revrite whole game and they dont know how to do it in first place (most team left after W3) as its just Witcher 3 code patched together by ppl with no idea how to make games. IT will never be fixed it will never be a good game unless they start from scratch.

      1. They failed terribly at making a modern city, with traffic, highways… it’s behind GTA 3 never mind 5.
Their NPC system works in a medieval setting like the Witcher, here it’s shockingly bad.

  1. what vulnerability, this is bullshit, i don’t care, i don’t have “rich files” in my pc, they come with this excuses, we need them to fix the f… game men, STOP with excuses and “cover story’s”.

    1. This is the most pathetic defense i saw for this game so far, good job.
“It doesnt matter if is spyware”

    1. The fixes aren’t going to magically happen at the snap of a finger. It takes time. They messed up by releasing it too early, but be patient. The game is in a decent state on PC now anyway. I started playing with the 1.11 patch and have only encountered a few minor glitches in my 15 hours played so far.

      1. The game got delay 3 times…how it was released too early knowing that?
The game in the current state is a mess no matter the platform even if you dont consider all the cut content and performance issues and bugs (which are the lesser problem).

        1. I am having a blast playing it and it runs good on my rig. Mind you, I have a 9900K and a 3080. As for the delays, it should have been delayed again. People who are waiting for fixes should just treat the game like it had been delayed again and wait for the fixes. CDPR is not giving up on the game.

          1. I think people are waiting for something more than bug fixes and optimizations.Yeah on PC when everything works and at max settings the game can look gorgeous….but that’s it…then you have a lifeless city with poor interaction and basic gameplay even for FPS-RPG standards.
The game needs a rework in gameplay mechanics (enemies with proper AI, more than just functional driving, gunplay that is above adequate), RPG systems (actually an implementation for role playing and rebalance in mechanics like upgrade trees, gear and crafting, management and introduction of quests) and overall story (that would include the cut content and features, like the lifepaths making an impact beyond some extra dialogue lines).
And for that there’s no patch that would add those, probably they could with some DLC (you are paying for stuff that should be on there to begin with). Basically an Enhanced Edition that turns this into a good game with 2020 standards.

          2. I am not holding out for any major reworks. The game is what it is. It is a good game with flaws and shortcomings just like many other AAA games. They may enhance certain things, but it is not going to change the overall experience that much IMO. I doubt they are going to dedicate large amounts of resources after release to changing it. Things were cut for a reason.

          3. Calling it good i think is too much, specially when you think for how long they been hyping up this thing…even people with zero expectations endup dissapointed.
I expect a Enhanced Edition that adresses the lack of a proper AI for enemies and police, some stuff with the physics and some rebalance in the loot and gear and perks system…and that’s pretty much it, i dont expect new content outside of DLC.
Things were cut because they werent ready to make a game in the scale they sold and tried to make. And the final product shows sheer incompetence at basic stuff.

  2. cd projekt red always sucks at combat & player movement feel animations always feels clunky (w3 clunky, 20777 clunky w2 clunky), kudos to ubisoft for making better player movement & combat that doesn;t feel clunky while controlling the player

      1. I am sooo glad it’s not like The Division where every enemy is a bullet sponge. You can kill enemies within a few shots and a few shots can kill you. For a looter shooter, the gun damage is quite realistic. Quickhacks make combat even more fun.

  3. After seeing their big 1.1update was nothing more then 1.07 I uninstalled the game. Just taking up space on my hard drive. I enjoyed the game for what it was but I have now lost interest and don’t give a f### anymore. CDPR is dead
