Crysis 3, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Dragon Age Inquisition & more are now available on Steam

Electronic Arts has just released twelve games on Valve’s distribution service, Steam. Steam gamers will now be able to get Crysis 3, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Dragon Age Inquisition and Need for Speed Heat.

Going into more details, the twelve new EA games that are available on Steam are:

  • Crysis 3
  • Need for Speed
  • Need for Speed Heat
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
  • Need for Speed Rivals
  • Unravel
  • Sea of Solitude
  • Fe
  • Dragon Age Inquisition
  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
  • Unravel Two
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered

All of these games come with some tempting discounts. However, do note that all of them require the Origin client software in order to run. Moreover, they require an EA account.

Still, this is great news for all those that wanted to buy these games on Steam. They are not “separate” releases. However, this is exactly what most of us thought when EA announced that it will bring its games on Steam.

You can find all of EA’s latest games here.

  1. Make available the Battlefield series, Origin sucks, it’s download sucks, can’t detect properly already installed games. EA knows that, instead of fixing their client they are now moving to steam.

  2. tell EA to pay me first if they want me to play their games, especially dragon age inquisition, I charge a million usd for each hour that i play that abomination.

      1. Dagoat don’t like them, but he seems very excited when he hear about nude men…

        1. i’m just saying men are hot and i don’t mind sucking a hot man, it doesn’t automatically make me gay, grow up dude.

    1. let’s face it, nobody cares if you play that game or any game for that matter. The world does not revolve around you

        1. I got a PS3 copy of that a couple years ago and was surprised to see it still has a ton of people playing still. But it’s stuck on a console and I hate playing shooters with a controller

  3. What is the point? It still requires origin client to be installes and open, so just like uplay why whould you use two drm’s?

    1. I’ve always wondered that. The only thing I got was that they want to get you invested in their platform for further scummy plans down the line.

    2. So EA it’s just linking their games via steam. It’s just like adding a non steam game on steam.

    3. Well, if having your library in one place is not good enough, how about community features, big picture mode, streaming, etc. You get the idea?

      1. Um…. no, I don’t. You don’t have your library in one place through this method, you’re simply funneling the money through Valve, and you’re still on Origin. If Origin were to ever go down, or be down for any period of time, your “Steam games”, won’t work. You get the idea?

          1. Why tf do you have 2448 games? You probably haven’t even played 10% of them and never will..

          2. That’s just the Steam library. GOG has a few more, while I hate to think how many boxed are up in the loft.

        1. This whole “if X will go down you lose eveyrthing” is basically the state of the industry as a a whole right now. If you dont agree with it you might as well just stop playing modern video games.

  4. “all of them require the Origin”

BUT OF COURSE! GOD FORBID EA DID SOMETHING WITHOUT BEING ASSH*LES ABOUT IT

  5. “However, do note that all of them require the Origin client software in order to run. Moreover, they require an EA account.”

So they’re essentially still stuck to Origin, but Gabe gets a little money from each sale now. Right.

    1. Its the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. And people still buy it that way. Makes no flipping sense.

    2. if i am not wrong in future origin might not be req they are working on it slowly, apex legends will be the first one to not req origin.

  6. If you enjoy closing magical gates over and over and experiencing a world where 80% of the population is some form of the rainbow mafia then Dragon Age Inquisition is the game for you.

  7. Are two clients required to play Ubisoft games on the Epic Store? I know it is required on Steam.

    1. No idea. Never bought anything from Epic. Just take the freebies, pirate the exclusives and use GOG / Steam for everything else.

  8. Ugh, I just threw up in my mouth. That was way too many garbage games running on terrible garbage game engines to read at once in a single title lol.

  9. All these games require Origin don’t have Steam achievements. But have Steam badges, cards, backgrounds at least.
Original 2009 Burnout Paradise removed from sale, only Remastered is now (with Denuvo, Origin and Big Surf Island).
Dragon Age 2 requires Origin even though original 2011 disc and Steam releases didn’t.

      1. It launches on hitting play and then closes when you exit the game. You don’t get to notice it unless you go looking.

  10. why is anyone complaining. who cares? if you don’t like it. don’t buy it. Personally I like having the games on steam just for the game timer and being able to leave a review. thats it. I don’t care if it opens origin. Doesn’t affect the game at all. so whats the problem? there is no problem. it’s an option and you can use it or not use it. aside from that… whoooo caaaaresssssss

  11. The only game from the list in the article that I have played is Crysis 3. I picked it up years ago from Origin on a sale for $10. It’s now on Steam on sale for $10. imo it’s worth $10 but I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $10 so if you want it then probably right now is the time to get it.

My biggest complaint was the bow, somehow linked to the Nanosuit, and Crytek pushing the use of the bow in the game. I found it a bit awkward and used other weapons whenever possible.

Of the 3 Crysis games I would rank Crysis 3 in last place and the best Crysis game was the first one.
