In an interview with Digital Foundry, Crytek confirmed that only the PC versions of Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered will support Ray Tracing effects.
Crysis 2 & 3 remasters will feature SVOGI and Ray Tracing reflections on PC. Furthermore, Crytek plans to bring most of the major improvements that it has implemented in Crysis 2 via its DX11 post-launch update. Not only that, but both of these games will feature higher quality textures.
It’s also worth noting that Crytek is still working on the first Crysis Remastered. According to Steffen Halbig, the team is still trying to improve overall CPU performance in the first remaster. Thus, PC gamers can expect a future patch that will further improve CPU performance.
Crysis Trilogy will release in will Fall 2021.
Stay tuned for more!

Good to hear they haven’t finished Crysis 1 remastered yet. The game is heavily single core heavy and still needs more multi-core scaling. They also needs to completely fix the new art direction they went with, the famous sunrise level looks terrible in the remaster. None of the early morning mood is captured in the remaster.
Meanwhile Hunt: Showdown doesn’t have problems like this.
Because HUNT wasn’t a simple port. It was built from the ground up for the latest generation of Cryengine.
They won’t, they based themselves on the console port which likely has a ton of limitations.
Microsoft surely gave great support to Saber with Halo, the same isn’t the same with Crytek and it shows.
I can’t keep up with all these remasters anymore, I still have the original c3 installed, didn’t see a need for more of it after attempting the c1re since it was unplayable when I tried it. Haven’t been back. C2 original is not the greatest looking but it’s better than most aa and below games of today, it’s also not the best campaign imo. And what will the double dip pricing be on this version of remasters? Storage needed? etc run amok to me.
This ‘ray tracing’ they could really just skip it on PC too and focus on getting 4k60 on 3090 at least 🙂
Yes, C1 ray tracing was pretty damn pointless. planar reflections would have worked for the only cases where it really paid off visually (on the ship platform and against your windshield inside vehicles). and in any other context it was either wholly absent (normal jungle or grassland environments) or flawed like on the water. maybe it wasn’t RT at all on the water, the glitches were the ones you’d expect from screen space reflections.
the worst part was how the RT reflections usually looked worse than screenspace because in order to make it work they had to simplify all the meshes in the RT “world” so much and cut the draw distance so short. it’s clearly a dead-end approach to ray-traced reflections that they’re using. Spiderman on console has better reflections IN A BIG SPRAWLING CITY than C1 Remaster had on PC with simplified Xbox 360 geometry.
They should skip 2 and 3, fix 1 and actually develop a good sequel to that one.
Crysis 2 and 3 are both awful in terms of visuals and gameplay.
Nothing but post processing garbage clogging up half the screen and dumbed down gameplay that promotes either avoiding the enemy completely or playing said game like it’s CoD.
These “remasters” look exactly the same as they looked 10 years ago, this is just a re release for consolekiddies.
A port from console to console that’s it. The old versions still looks way better than a lot of 2021/22 garbage games.
All these remasters benefit only console players, those who played the og games on PC already got the best experience. Pointless if you ask me (specially after how worse the remaster for Crysis 1 against the original)
The lighting is overly saturated and ugly!
I actually like it. In some spots it’s almost hitting the limit of color vomit but it doesn’t look as bad as the usual reshade preset from some random youtuber. It looks like the vibrance only affects certain shades so the entire scene doesn’t look like unicorn pööp. Blacks look natural.
Still got the C2 Remaster shots baked in my retinae and the modded version definitely looks better. The devs said the only focus on these remasters is going to be reflections (by abusing the f out of cubemaps) and higher res textures. SVOGI is welcome but I didn’t see much difference on the street scene when they compared the same place on Xbox 360 vs PS5.
– Remake game for consoles that have built-in RT acceleration
– Don’t support RT on consoles
Classic Crytek.
EDIT: – Remake game for consoles from 2013 in 2021, after a new gen has already begun.
They said they skipped it on consoles to have a single performance/quality target at 60 fps, because when people have options which end up lowering resolution/fps, they get upset.
Excellent, I will buy the trilogy from EGS.
Hermano, calmate un rato por favor.
They showcased CryEngine 5.6 last year running a demo of Crysis beach head. That’s the true remake, not these shoddy ports which still use draconian API’s and features.
They call them Remasters for a reason.
seeing this here vid, takes me all the way back to 2008 however this time? I’m able to turn the res up…and thats about it.
It’s shocking how a game that was considered mediocre at best for its time now looks more fun than 100 percent of shooters that come out these days.
No. They are not PC ports. They are targeting Jaguar and Switch think how can it be a pc port and med GFX cards lol… And DX11 stuff they are saying most of what’s possible which means they are just porting texture work that too limited. Add RT It’s marketing 101, It’s bs. And C1 Can it ruin is trash. Useless and fake demanding for overblown RT. Wait for Crysis Enhanced for best version add Black Fire mod for definitive experience.
Looks better than maldohd ? Lmao ok
Crytek is fcking dead. These are not old Crytek staff. All those left years ago. This company is riding remaster wave with EGS money for next BR gayme.
They never said it’s based on PC version dude. Only thing they said was these shlt consoles will get the game now, and DX11 textures will be ported into this but the guy directly says “as much as they could”. That Screen shot is for PS5 trash footage which is running in backcompat mode. Show me a comparison of PC version then we talk.
Jaguar (slower than Q6600 esp OCed) and ARM processor in Switch which is slower than 2 year old Android devices SD835, 845, 865 all beat Switch performance in CPU.
How do you think Switch can run the same game made for 8th generation, because Switch ARM garbage is technically equivalent to a PS3 7th gen system BUT in reality the CPU is pathetically slower than a PS3 Cell system and the GFX fidelity on Switch system is gutter trash, cannot even maintain 20FPS in Zelda, the only reason it can run is because it’s a CONSOLE PORT from PS3 era not a PC Port. Is it hard to understand ? AND they won’t be making 2 Ports here one for Switch and One for Remasturd Trilogy on PS4 and PC.
And why do you think they are saying it will run on mid range GPU also better ? Because it’s a console port of the last to last gen with DX11 texture upgrades and other small improvements, dude you think these incapable fcks will change the rendering engine and pipeline of Crysis 2 with super optimization ? These games are going to be released as a package. They don’t put money into these when you go that route.
Those fkcing consoles couldn’t even run Ninja Gaiden 2 and had to be significantly downgraded, Xbox One cannot run NG2 at full speed 60FPS, One X is needed for that. Forget running Crysis games. 30 FPS maxed out ? These consoles are too slow when compared to the Fermi cards and the slow molasses CPU with their super small memory also doesn’t help. Also they will not max out and they have LOD and draw distance changes, on top of checkerboard trash. Waste of time to talk about outdated garbage Console trash.
DF and Crytek didn’t show a single picture of PC version. They know it will be B.S so they are hiding it until the damn game launches and keeping that hype going with omg Ray Tracing on PC bullcrap.
Crysis 3 doesn’t max out. And until we got 8700K and 9900K and 1080Ti the game never ran above 100FPS with all settings dialed to max at FHD resolution. I’m not talking about C2 when talking about Mid range as the developer suggested. It was about C3 (I suppose even developer intended that as C2 is inferior vs C3), I should have mentioned that. And even XSX cannot beat a 3300X which is basically a 7700K, that is proved by GN.
These are console ports. No matter what, they are going to be inferior garbage to the existing PC releases.
Go watch Gamers Nexus video on PS5 vs PC. “Claims” lol, you don’t know what makes 3300X fast, it’s the high 4.4GHz clock. Slow 8C 3.5-3.8GHz cores cannot keep up with the high clock IPC boost. And 16T is not applicable on all games. That’s basics.
This is not a place to argue about the gay trash cucksole & I do not have any interest in these dogshlt hardware boxes.
Fck these Tencent 4ss lickers, just perish.
