Crackdown 3 confirmed for the PC, will be an “Xbox Play Anywhere” title, releases in 2017

Back in 2016, Microsoft claimed that all of its title that were showcased at E3 would be released on the PC (yes yes, Microsoft claimed that all future titles would be coming to the PC, but then backtracked). And since Crackdown 3 was not shown during that event, a lot of us wondered whether this game would hit the PC. Well, it’s been confirmed that Crackdown 3 will be coming to our platform, and will be an “Xbox Play Anywhere” title.

This basically means that this game will be coming exclusively on Windows 10 via Microsoft’s Windows Store. And while some games did find their way on Steam, we are pretty sure that Crackdown 3 won’t be one of them.

Reagent Games has also confirmed that Crackdown 3 will be released in 2017.

Microsoft will most probably showcase Crackdown 3 at this year’s E3, so stay tuned for more!

    1. I don’t really see the issue with Windows Store, I mean you don’t even download anything. Its just part of Windows 10.

        1. Oh yeah that I can understand. But that is about Win10 as whole.
Its people who “upgraded” to Win10 but refuse to use Windows Store I don’t get. “In for a penny, in for a pound.” There are much worse things about Win10 then Windows Store.

      1. Everytime I went to microsoft store just to check if its gotten better I want to vomit how ugly and not customer friendly it is, not to mention all garbage stuff mixed together jezus never again will I ever comeback there

    1. Probably my other top game I want to see other than Crackdown 3. I am not sure if we will see Dying Light 2 or Dead Island 2 so I am dying to see State of decay 2! I did notice though both Dead Island 1 and Riptide HD/Remake updated with a patch today on Steam… hmm maybe Dead Island 2 will be at E3… I really hope so.

But yeah I think State of decay 2 will own, so cool its going to be on the PC.

      1. I Cant wait for Teken 7 Get Even Vanquish(coming tommorow) Agents of Mayhem Middle Earth Shadow of War Far Cry 5 Asssssin Creed Origin Wolfestein new colosues Evil Within 2 Star Wars Battlefront 2 Call of duty world war 2 Sonic Forces Sonic Mania Dark Siders 3 Avengers Gurardians of the galaxy games from Eidos and of course State of decay 2 Batman Arkham Insurgency and not forget INJUSTICE 2 pc version! That is 19 games in total . Lot of games to play for rest of the year!!! And who knows they might announe my next teenage mutant ninja turtles game that will be based on my next tv series that wil start on fall 2018!!

          1. Iam very socail person yes.I have lot friends and i go out with them at leat 3 times the week mostly on friday satuday or sunday. Of course i dont play any new game at release i said that iw ant to play them not that i will play all of them when they release, I said tho which games iam looking forwared too.

        1. Yeah man it is a crazy year for the PC and gaming in general, that is a MEGA list 🙂 for sure. Man there are so many games on your list I have to play, I can’t wait. I really want to see what news games will be at E3. They need to model a TMNT game after Nier: Automata format that would own for it.

        1. Maybe they got banned after so much posts against pc gaming and pc gamers thatt they were writing here for so many months in a row

        2. hmmn, mods should really be making sure they never return, because all they do is cause crap to hit the fan when they show up.

          1. I can neither confirm nor deny Zatara is in my basement. I also cannot confirm or deny a huge, black, vibrating dil-do is involved. I also have no comment on the Phil Collins music playing really loudly in the background.

      1. I’ve played it on Xbox and it’s so frickin’ awesome. I know this is a PC-only gaming site but I do think that the Xbox is an underrated platform. Great hand control, a lot of nice games and usually cheap if you go for disc-based ones.

          1. Agreed. Nothing underrated about it. In 2017, it isn’t required for the majority of games out there. PC + PS4/Switch combo is far more impactful.

        1. honestly man xbone has too much baggage and its nor more powerfull or cheap from the competition, also very few exlusives, same can be said for wiiu which is dead or switch but atleast they are cheap. The only console that worths a dime this gen is ps4 not even the handhelds. This is why i want sunset overdrive on pc, so ill have no need for a xbone.

          1. I don’t know where you’re from but here in Sweden, you can get an Xbone S with FIFA 17 or Gears of War 4 for less than the equivalent of 220 USD. If you ask me, that is one heck of a deal. And sure, the Xbone don’t get too many exclusives right now (which I think will change in the coming year or so) but it’s a great machine with a superb controller. I own both PS4 and Xbone (besides my gaming PC and some other consoles) and I definitely prefer playing on Xbone when given a choice.

          2. You just named a bunch of crap that can be played on PC. Keksimus Maximus

          3. So? I replied to Durka Durka who wrote that the Xbone isn’t (among other things) cheap. I replied and gave a price example. Try finding a decent gaming computer for the same price.

        2. He says a game is good and you equate it with the console being good. Can you separate the two?

  1. OMG! This is awesome news, man I can’t wait to see it @ E3 2017 and the new gameplay video its been a while. My PC and body are ready 🙂 , this made my day.

  2. “And while some games did find their way on Steam, we are pretty sure that Crackdown 3 won’t be one of them.”

Yeah and that’s where it will die, because the Win store is quite unpopular as well as there being no sure way to mod/fix games attached to that store. Even if they did toss the game onto Steam, it would end up as a mess thanks to the Win store transition.

MS should just do what ubisoft is doing, in which they sell from not only their store, but on Steam. That way they only have to pay 30% cut to Valve, but make bank on whatever sales they get from their own store. It’s either that or they have to force a smile at the low, low sales from the win 10 store, because that’s clearly why they are tossing their games onto Steam, since their store clearly isn’t raking it in, if it were they’d keep all their games locked in.

    1. Ubi gets half of it right, but forgets that the other half is bad, which is why I don’t buy ubisoft games these days as I dislike Uplay.

      1. There is nothing wrong with Uplay their support is very good and the the client itself works fine. I have bought all my Ubisoft games through Uplay over the years and never had any issues. They also have some of the best looking and playing PC games out there in my opinion.

        1. Good for you, but I still see issues with the client as well as it requiring you to install and use it despite buying the games from Steam and launching them from that very same client, I find that to be a glaring issues, opinion or not.

Imo their games aren’t all that stellar and are more based on what consoles can do, rather than what higher end PC hw can do. I find Star Citizen to be one of the better looking games out there.

      1. well windows got no alternative
(aside from Mac and linux which have p*ss poor support for games)

  3. Steam’s money grabbing monopoly needs to die. Windows store isn’t even close to an answer but clinging to steam like its end all is retarded. If a good game comes out ill buy it no matter what the store. You guys are just giving the publishers more of a reason to keep making console only games.

    1. Is there any proof out there that the other client stores aren’t asking for any such tax back on games they don’t own being sold on their stores? (likely why we hardly see any games they don’t own being sold on theirs at all).

    2. ” If a good game comes out ill buy it no matter what the store”

by all means if you think origin and uplay are not a mess. Personally id pick gog and greenmangaming over them anyday.

“You guys are just giving the publishers more of a reason to keep making console only games.”
That made zero sense, they are the ones who forces us to use their worthless platform while on consoles you dont have to deal with it at all, if anything they are making us not wanting to buy the pc version but the console version. Origin spies on you. The ps4/xbone game does not have origin.

    1. DavidCage. Pro-DRM consumer recommends DRM for the average gamer.

“DRM or Nothing” – says DavidCage

  4. “Xbox Play Anywhere” title. ??? what is that ?? Can someone explain ?? So by mean play anywhere does it mean I can play it on steam ??

    1. You buy the game on Xbox1 and it works on both PC and Xbox, it also has crossplay so you can play on PC alongside your Xbox1 friends, it’s really cool

  5. Excellent news! Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 going to be a great year for Microsoft

    *puts up shield*

  6. I havent played any of previous games because they didnt coem to pc will i understand the story or it dont maater? From what i read it is about a virus who mutatnts people into monsters and we fight the monsters so since 3 has the same story as the previous two maybe even if i havent played the other two i will still understand the story?

  7. Maybe he forgot it! Of course it was confirmed then. He must have forgoteen it. Therei s no other explanation.

  8. Dont forget to add 4k textures Microsoft. DONT FORGET THE 4K TEXTURES! So my new high end cpu and ram Ryzen 1700 16 GB DDR43200 MHZ GTX 970 G1 GAMING can run it max settings 1440p at 80+ fps. Also ,make it use all 8 cores and 12 threads of my cpu.

  9. Is the story linked in any way? It’s like FH3, it’s a good game, it doesn’t need its predecessors to be good does it ?

  10. All of those 10 people who are going to buy this are here in the comment section below. it lives 1 week and it dies like the rest of WinStore games.

What happened to all of those cloud computing bulls**t M$ told us about this garbage ?

  11. I wish if buying the physical copy will grants you the pc version as I hate downloading games twice
