Grand Theft Auto V feature

Confirmed: Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available for free on Epic Games Store until May 21st [Now Available]

In a deleted tweet, Epic Games confirmed that this week’s free Epic Games Store game will be Grand Theft Auto 5. And while Epic Games was quick to react, Wario64 was able to capture the deleted tweet ad.

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available in twelve hours from now. Obviously someone at Epic Games got confused between AM and PM, and that’s why the tweet went live earlier. Still, it’s good knowing which game Epic will be giving away.

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available for free until May 21st. Naturally, once you acquire your free copy, you’ll be able to keep it forever. We also don’t know whether this version will support mods or not.

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that GTA5 can look great even to this date with some mods. Not only that, but there are a lot of mods that add new characters/super heroes, as well as missions and custom maps. Therefore, we suggest visiting this page in order to find the mods we’ve covered over the past few years.

UPDATE:

The game is now available and you can acquire your free copy from here. Do note that Epic is currently receiving a lot of traffic. As such, Epic Games Store is currently down. Epic is working on fixing these connection issues,

  1. I refuse due to China something, something. Now back to gaming on my CIA OS on my Mossad Intel CPU with gaping security holes, when MS was the first tech giant to sell out to the PRISM program. Oh yeah and I think I’m safe on Vista 2.0 (7) even though the backdoors were put in there to and the OS has received telemetry patches and you need the security updates to fix the back holes that have been discovered outside governments..

Get the free game and dual boot Linux dummies. Otherwise any talk about privacy or spying is a complete joke.

    1. lol talking about privacy google, amazon most of these western companies operate on same principle lol so get that bs i wont give my data to Chinese sh*t out of here.

      1. I pis* on Amazon open *ss, I will never give a single penny to the cancerous pile of trash: JEFF BEZOS

      2. I piss on Amazon open a*s, I will never give a single penny to the cancerous pile of trash: JEFF BEZOS

      4. bwah this is america enjoy….

“Right now the Government can collect web browsing and internet search history without a warrant under section 215 of the PATRIOT Act. Section 215, from the beginning, has been the most controversial and dangerous provision of the FISA law. That is because it is so extraordinarily broad and so vague. Under section 215, the Government can collect just about anything, as long as the Government believes it is relevant to an investigation. This can include the private lives of many innocent, law abiding Americans. As I indicated, they don’t have to do anything wrong. They don’t have to be suspected of anything. They don’t even have to have been in contact with anyone suspected of anything. Their personal information in some way just has to be connected for relevance to what the Government is looking for.”

    2. So, you think being on Linux keeps you away from being spyied?
      LOL
If you’re on the big net, you’re fvcked. There’s no privacy online, AT ALL!

      1. Well you can go the VPN route, however that’s defo not 100%. Just you are not so easily identified via outbound.

  2. Wow… this amazing! I bought GTA V for PS3 back in that time but never had the chance to play on my PC!

    1. I guess i really need to watch that movie. I always thought it was just for children but guess i have much to learn. Cheers Homie

      1. Thanks for the heads up cause i can’t deal with anymore wokeness. All i’ve been watching is shows and movies from 10-20 years ago in order to not deal with wokeness. I rewatched the whole 10 seasons of smallville a month ago and it was delightful, they even had an episode where Lois Lane blatantly destroyed and make fun of feminism. You would never see that nowadays.

Then i went and watched some clips on youtube about the “crisis between worlds” in DC universe and there is Lois Lane lecturing superman about how there is a wage gag and he makes more money than her for the same job. ughhhhh, the universe is collapsing inward on itself and they found some way to bring up a DEBUNK’d MYTH. Oh what a world we live in.

      2. I liked the first one but all the ones after it felt lacking in quality compared to the original.

      3. I’ve tried to watch these movies several times now, I just can’t. Imo they are movies for the dumb kids.

  3. “Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that GTA5 can look great even to this date with some mods”

There is no mod that can really improve GTAV visually unlike GTAIV. Redux and NV are just some lighting alternatives IMO that can look slightly better or worse than vanilla in some places. it’s looking great at high settings even for today’s standards, Reshade is the way to go, not demanding, easy to use, and customizable

  4. I was really hyped at first, but it ended up being the most bland GTA to date, outdated mission design, uninteresting story and childish character writing, even the radio OST is a big downgrade over SA and IV, i had good times with it in free roam but nothing memorable. For me the good Rockstar lasted a decade, it started with GTAIII and ended with RDR

    1. “I never got to play RDR, GTA IV”

Like you said, you can wait for RPCS3 for RDR, but you can already try GTAIV on PC, it’s far from perfect but a more memorable experience than V, and from the look of it, it has chances to be the last really good entry in the series

    2. The core gameplay was awesome, but the progression and narratives relie so much on cutscenes that keep stopping you from playing, it was annoying especially on arcade modes , i wish it had less cutscenes.
MP1 & 2 had this continuous play which somehow managed to maintain the depressing atmosphere

    3. I player 15% of GTA V then uninstalled. Tried again and uninstalled for the 3rd time. Haven’t returned since. That game is for 15 years olds.

  5. Timmy Tencent forking out piles of cash to lure sheep onto his platform. What else is new?

    1. you don’t have to said everytime. We are broke man. and our information is useless if they every steal our info(usa do it publicly). we are broke we want free games. the shut the f*** up get your free game or f*** off.

        1. The MP is a cancerous pile of rotten sh*t, f*cking cheaters everywhere and Rockstar do nothing since they are a plague….

          1. This has to be bait, a poor one…but you got me, since im commenting about it.

          2. I can’t tell if you’re sarcastic or not but either way I’ve had this discussion too many times.

          3. free games

The steady stream of free games is the only way in which Epic is better than Steam.

Which is not to say that Steam is good. GOG is the gold standard; they just don’t have the publisher support.

(By the way, with the current $10 coupon being offered, Vampyr, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition, and Batman The Telltale Series Shadows Edition are $4.99 each.

Don’t ask me how I know.)

          4. Ahahahahhahahaha please put your head in the microwave another time!!

          1. Not at all. It’s naive to think you’re not supporting them by doing so.

          2. You don’t want to go into a linguistic debate with me, mate. Believe me.
Try coming up with an actual argument instead.

          3. No, you go first, since I’m not the one resorting to infantile jabs in lieu of having an argument to offer. Can you explain how free downloading isn’t support, or am I to look forward to another “hur dur, find a dictionary” comment?

          4. Heh, that’s what I thought.
Sorry man, didn’t want to make a fool of you, but I can’t stop you from doing it yourself.

            Better luck next time.

          5. fool

Says the giggling stoner trying to intimidate others with his linguistic competence.

You’re the one who’s running from answering a question. Money is support. Praise is support. Taking freebies is anything but.

          6. And what to you think a burgeoning user base does to a platform, genius?

          7. what to you think a burgeoning user base does to a platform

What do you think that giving away your product with no financial return does to your bottom line, Bezos?

(Don’t try to move the goalposts; the original point was whether or not giving away games to people who will never buy one helps the giver.)

          8. You’re either trolling, or are incapable of making the simplest of logical connections. Either way, I’ve wasted enough time on you.

          9. Yes it is supporting it. Every one that logs on and play is a plus for their portfolio when it comes time to answer to investors. Its called METRICS! But you’re an adult, your actions are all of your own. But just know that it does count as support.

          10. Not paying for a product doesn’t help the bottom line, and every user who collects their giveaways without buying anything serves only to highlight the folly of their model.

  6. didnt R* made his own luncher ? sooo you can get Epic Sh.t store . get GTA 5 uninstal Epic Sh.t store . keep GTA 5 ?

  7. Let’s see…the game is huge, the most selling thing in entertainment ever…so anyone interested already bought it (a lot of people on consoles double dipped it even…suckers) or pirated it.
So theres the Online only left, which i guess after all this years is a mess filled with cheaters and whales that can do whatever they want and ruin any intention of playing it and have a nice experience, and/or near to lose any support (i can see GTA VI announcement in a couple of months after something like these).
So, with that said…i’m impressed, and im gonna say this once…good job Epic.
    I still won’t download it.

    1. they are called “new players”, those who started playing recently, who have entered the world of pc gaming for a few weeks maybe.

Epic thinks about the future, not the old steam-driven player base. Giving free games for weeks, months and maybe years, collecting new users without prejudice, is doing its job well, and thanks to epic I was able to buy games at a ridiculous price, Vampyr at 6 €, Watch dogs 2 at 4 €, genesis alpha prime for 6 €. For the player who is interested in playing and not being part of a faction epic it is a godsend.

  8. Excellent news, another great title for free. Thank you for letting us know about these new EGS deals, John. ??

  9. I have a lot of games on EGS which I have received for free but I still have not installed their launcher.

  10. LMAO Rockstars is nothing but a bunch of filthy wh0res… GTA Online is the worst cancerous cheaters infested MP games that ever existed and these moron are doing nothing to fix this plague….. They just made B$ with this game……

  11. Another one to add to the account and leave it there eternally.
Good thing I have my account with a random email, so I can sell it with lots of games in the future.

    1. Online might have been okay if it weren’t for the cash shop and the endless parade of loading screens.

  12. The deal is so popular their site is down.
Sad all the negative people here can’t enjoy it.

    1. Most people on PC played it at this point, legally or not, only people (kids) wanting the Online experience are rushing, i’m not an online person myself, not anymore. And i consider GTA V SP as a weak entry in the series, without any negativity and with all due respect to the people enjoying it

      1. Most people? No way. it’s constantly high up on the NPC charts. Lots of people are still buying and playing it for the first time.

      1. ADDENDUM: they are limiting downloads to 2mb/s KEK
No suprise on why they don’t have big releases in their store…they can’t handle the traffic. Hey greedy Timmy, pay for better servers!

          1. Timmy rides the (no) Soul Train. He should take the Last Train To Clarksville or at least buy a one-way ticket for the Midnight Train to Georgia.

    1. Valve specifically hasn’t, but devs still do on Steam.

Epic just pays sacks of cash to get devs to do it, and I honestly don’t see why Valve needs to.

You also get free games on GoG and Humble bundle as well.

  13. If you are paying for anything on Epic then you are doing it wrong.

    Epic, make piracy great again.

    1. You know that no store is your friend right? They’re all bleeding you of money in different ways.

      1. I didn’t say any of them are your friends. Other’s are just way superior and their business practices and PR are not sh**ting on consumers.

Steam is not “bleeding” a single dime from me unless I choose to pay.
