CD Projekt RED has hired the creators of Wolvenkit to create official modding tools for Cyberpunk 2077

Now here is a pleasant surprise. The creators of Wolvenkit, the unofficial modding tools for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, have announced that CDPR has hired them. As such, the team will be working with CDPR in order to create official modding tools for Cyberpunk 2077.

Theoretically speaking, this will give a big boost to Cyberpunk 2077’s modding community. And, to be honest, the game desperately needs such a thing.

The only major mod we’ve seen lately for CP2077 is its Rebalance Megamod. This mod attempts to overhaul numerous aspects of the game, such as the AI, armors, perks, melee, player stats, weapons and more. Yesterday, we also shared another mod that makes the game’s latest version playable on non-AVX CPUs.

It will be interesting to see when these official modding tools will come out. It will also be interesting to see whether we’ll get any noteworthy graphical mods (you know, other than Reshades).

Stay tuned for more!

  1. The only smart thing to come from CDPR regarding Cyberpunk. Hiring Modders because they know that’s the one thing that saves many shlt games

  2. Cybershxt despite not selling at all after the scammy preorder period is their only source of income right now and they have an entire building allocated to the multiplayer portion of the game + fxck knows what the new vancouver studio is doing – probably have become mp slaves too. At the pace they’re delivering updates and judging the quality of them, there’s probably about 10 devs on life support and the rest are building mp. Our game won’t have mtxs btw, we leave greed to others btw.

Fangirls still can’t see that the game hasn’t changed in 9mo and believe that they’re actively patching the game. One of the chubby cheek feminine looking lead soys on stream admitted that they have no idea how to fix the game and had self esteem so low (estrogen od) that future patches would only bring more bugs, and one of the other people said the entire dev team was disappointed with the game – that guy has probably been beheaded and fired, lmao. Anyway, no shot this thing ever comes to life, the finalized product is barely holding on its own with the linear campaign remaining full of softlocks. Most basic shxt like you mentioned are missing, at least they get the t poses right.

Wtf are people seeing in current mods anyway. Top mods change some configuration files or are straight up made for pervs, I guess that’s all you need for the majority to consider the game being fixed in 2021 lmao.

Also stay tuned, IR will present their underwhelming H1 sales numbers on Wednesday which is why I believe they made the modding related announcement today which acts as a coverup for the shxt to come.

On an unrelated note, physics make games fun before anything else https://clips.twitch.tv/TangibleSteamyYamBCouch-G6WTJpZ5kYMeZO60

  3. This is embarrassing, they had to hire a third party to fix the game…Bethesda would be proud.
Kudos to the modders that endup having a better understanding of how the game should be, unlike the developers working on this thing for years.

    1. The real devs knew but they had to leave their company because of all the lunatics that focus more on diversity and inclusion than creating better art.

      1. After 9 months since release, i blame the devs that worked on it too…their incompetence only managed to pull minor bugfixes in a game where the fundamental gameplay elements are either broken or ancient.
Of course the devs from Witcher 3 abandon ship way before we got this disaster in our hands

  4. EXTREMELY interesting because of deep implications on many fronts.
    – First, they desperately needed to gain some customer goodwill
    – Offloading the task to a team already technically apt for it, though they’ll need some time to gain insight on the depths of the engine.
    – Hiring modders, and not just individuals but a whole group (!!!!) makes for an extremely interesting precedent for the industry.
People will be able to work in the industry who really love what they do, want to do it, and have already proven themselves technically AND sometimes even design capable.
    – If this kind of move starts to spread across the industry, modders could at least start at technical work if not getting some creative saying, but it’s a step in the right direction for bringing in people who might restore some soul back into the industry.

    1. This is not new in the industry. CDPR specially did it since the first Witcher game with FCR mod. You get Witcher EE today and comes with fanmade story modules.
Is the closest thing to making fanfiction official, just like Disney’s Star Wars movies…and we all know how that went.

  5. Don’t count on anything, folks. WolvenKit is a modding tool created by these guys for the Witcher 3 due to the absence of in-depth modding tools (akin to Redkit for Witcher 2) that were promised by CDPR.

It’s also not the first time CDPR hires someone from modding community. There was one dev that previously modded Witcher (2007) and subsequently got hired.

All I’m saying is don’t count on the game becoming even remotely close to what CDPR were advertising it as in countless dev interviews as hiring a few guys won’t make this happen.

  6. Same old story as Oblivion,Skyrim & W3. Crippled devs unabled to fix their craps, just giving away modding tools..So, modders have to do the holy job again with bugfixes mods etc.

  7. honestly at this point i am convinced its nearly impossible to make a AAA game with modern graphics and not to be an unfinished swallow mess so i just play boomer shooters with ancient graphics.

  8. It’s been over 8 months now and you would think they could at least have done some meaningful dlc, probably the modders will do that once they can get this I guess. They can’t undo the underlying marketing scam, bait and switch that this game is though. Think of the vast majority of people who just swallow this stuff up and are influenced by it, that’s the point of most modern games. Ever wonder why it’s Valve-Steam? Games are a control VALVE to let off STEAM of the ever worsening juice mafia world of greed/lust/slavery/thievery. GOG needs no commentary I would think.

  9. For sure the kalergi jew plan has been going strong for decades now, the latest example is the worldwide importing of thousands of afghanis who are most likely cryptos for even more subversion in a hidden way. These people will be recieving from governments more aid than native tax payers could ever get and it ain’t bc these rat pols suddenly have love for them, it’s all paid for in different ways. I remember when George Bush(buchs cryptos btw, slave owners) suddenly brought in thousands of Iraqis after the 1990 war, probably cryptos, and that programmed multiple McVeigh was working with some of them.

    1. I wonder what is the reason to import people who hates Jews to places where Jews live. Have you thought about that? Oh, and note of warning, the stormcuck you are talking to is a socialist, he will not find it nice that you think his retarded ideology is Marxist.

  10. this paints them as incredibly pragmatic, humble and intelligent people, who do not have an ounce of false pride. nothing to be ashamed of IMO

    1. >Pay for unfinish game
      >Wait untill the users finish it
How is this good again? they are trying to save face by making players fix the game while scoring PR points from people like you who see this as something positive.
This is the equivalent of buying a car…but you have to build the engine yourself.
Lets skip the incompetent developers part and start buying indie games made by modders…you dont even need studios or publishers (it just shows how rotten this industry is when amateurs do a better job than multimillion studios)

      1. Whatever your opinion on the state of the game is, hiring creators to release MODS (Not fixes) is a fantastic idea.

It’s damn sure better than whatever the f*k Rockstar is doing.

  11. It’s a recourses thing. They simply don’t have enough staff to work on fixing the game, work on the small free dlc for the game, work for the expansions for the game, work on the next Witcher game, work on the Witcher 3 remaster. They are most likely scratched thin at this point.

So they hire another studio to do this sh*t. I get it, they want this game to be as moldable as Skyrim so they can sell it for years to come. Problem is that they lack basic functionality for this game to be Skyrim. Wonder how much money and time they are willing to put into this to straighten it all out. It can be done of course it’s a question of time and money. Wonder how much is the good will they lost from the customers is worth to them. Guess time will tell.

  12. Remember when CDPR was considered one of the greatest developers of all time? When they actually took the time to make amazing, well-polished games? It’s amazing how hard their reputation fell after releasing this absolute dumpster fire.

  13. This is good news. A modding kit is the best thing that can happen to it.

Modded Skyrim today is one of the best things you can play. I don’t expect CP2077 to be like Skyrim, but developing a modding community and good tools gives the community endless possibilities to make the game that they want, and everyone will be able to play this at no extra cost.

Everyone on this comments section is too caught up in their narrative to have any reasonable opinions about anything. CP2077 f*ked up, therefore you want it to fail further and the community to get screwed more ?

I’ll be watching to see if the modding scene kicks off. If it does, I might pick it up later down the line along with the next gen upgrade.
