Epic Games has announced that Arkane’s Prey, which was published by Bethesda, is now available for free on Epic Games Store. For only one day, PC gamers can visit its EGS and acquire their free copy.
As with all EGS offers, this is a “free-to-own” and not a “free-to-play” offer. This basically means that once you acquire your free copy, you’ll be able to keep the game yours forever.
Prey is a first-person shooter that has elements from Bioshock and the Deus Ex games. In this game, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong.
The game originally came out on PC in 2017, and was one of my favourite games. However, do note that this Prey game has nothing in common with the Prey game that came out in 2006.

I think free games and a sale with a $10 dollar off coupon is to tempting for most people. And Epic is all to well aware of this. That is why they offer it.
yeah thats what i thought at first, but their launcher is so bad compared to steam or even GOG galaxy that it grates on you over time having to use it. Got the Control DLC for about $5 with that coupon and even that barely felt worth it.

It was supposed to be Neuroshock or something like that, but Bethesda decided to put the Prey name on it hoping they can recover a part from all the money they lost on the cancelled game, but as you said, it’s a solid game on it own and it all that matters after all

Yeah it really should’ve been its own game removed from the Prey IP, that sequel looked amazing, and to me is one of the worst tragedies in vaporware right next to Star Wars 1313.

They got that Sk*nk Sarkesian to advise on the game. Very gyno centric. The gameplay is still fun but the narrative was forgettable.
