Crysis mod feature

One of the best graphical mods for Crysis, BlackFire’s Mod, is now available for Crysis Remastered

BlackFire’s Mod is considered by many as one of the best mods for the first Crysis game. And today, we are happy to report that a new version of it is out that is available for Crysis Remastered.

BlackFire’s Mod basically changes the lighting and Time of Day of all levels to achieve stunning visuals. According to the modder, this mod aims for a bright and colorful sunny day.

Do note that this first version of BlackFire’s Mod for Crysis Remastered does not introduce any additional graphical effects. This is just a Time of Day modification and nothing more. Still, and since a lot of PC gamers hated the default TOD, you should at least give it a go.

Speaking of Crysis Remastered mods, the team behind Crysis Enhanced Edition is also working on a brand new version of it. Although there is no ETA, Remaster Studio plans to release it soon.

  1. The scene lighting looks pretty nice but jeez why does the sky look like utter dogs*** lmao. It’s so weirdly purple for the time of day that it’s modeling.

  2. It looks FREAKING good.
Just a few more mods and optimizations and this version will finally be better than the original Crysis.
I told you to give it some time, guys… Why you never believe me? lol
Now, we need the missing level !

And thanks for the news, papa! I didn’t even know this mod was in the works!

    1. Need glasses ? It’s better than vanilla but still far from being as natural as the original, all i see is brightness cranked to 11, and what optimizations you’re talking about ? That’s not modders work and Crytek didn’t bother to fix performance issues.
The missing level is also unlikely because the remaster has no ability to play custom maps, seriously your enthusiasm is not only laughable, it’s also really wrong

    2. It’s not good if you have to resort to mod(s) to fix it
Don’t pamper the developer, it’s their goddamn job to fix it.

  3. A lot of people misunderstood the purpose of BlackFire, it’s more of a tool for screenshots than a real graphical mod, it just edits CVARs to tweak TOD on the fly, and add some blur effects on in, more suitable for screenshots rather than gameplay, not to forget it’s broken on some levels that have different TODs at a time like Relic, the game doesn’t switch to night time in the mid mission.

“this mod aims for a bright and colorful sunny day”

Vanilla remaster is already bright and colorful AF, more than that and my monitor will bleed rainbows from it azz
