Bandai Namco shadily changes support period for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Bandai Namco has just updated the Steam store page of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and silently changed the support period for that particular title.

The big publisher initially claimed – as can be seen in this archived page – that the game would get free updates and post launch support for more than a year. However, the new Steam page claims something completely different.

According to the game’s Steam store page, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will get post launch support for over 6 months.

As of this moment, we don’t know whether this change applies only to the PC version or all versions of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Still, this is kind of disheartening and disappointing, especially when a publisher – out of nowhere – changes support periods, without informing the media or its fans.

This is also another reason why we strongly suggest avoiding pre-orders. We do know that some gamers pre-ordered this game with the thought that it would be supported for over a year.

Bandai Namco has not commented yet on this!

  1. just don’t buy japanese made games on PC

end of story , they have a bad track of bad console ports on PC

    Square-enix and Capcom are exceptions

    1. Square-Enix? Are you kidding me… They publish more games that get made on PC. Their whole FF line up on PC is a joke when it comes to optimization / frame pacing.

      1. Yea well considering they at first had no intentions to move games to pc.

If they had that in mind in the beginning thats another matter, for example look at tales of zestiria, it works fine with the fix but other than that 1 issue (which is fixed by mods) there is no problems.

So in your opinion, it’s alright that Dark Souls OG is still sh*t on PC without DSFix, because “well, they never intended to bring it over to the PC in the first place”?

I think anyone & everyone who’ve done actually good PC Ports would like a word with you. Dragon’s Dogma, for example.

      1. Yeah. Metal Gear Rising. Transformers Devastation. Vanquish if it comes to PC (I really hope it comes). Those games.

        1. You’re probably right, but it wasn’t that bad either. Hey, it at least ran good which is more than I can say for other AAA games…

I’m speaking about Platinum Games in the sense that they are really fun games with some deep combat mechanics if you actually try experiment and be stylish. And are very underappreciated in the eyes of mainstream gaming, which is a real shame. Even hardcore DMC/Bayonetta players dismiss games like Transformers Devastation for superficial reasons like story or campaign length (while somewhat valid, the combat system, awesome boss fights, replayability and extra content more than make up for it).

I’m kind of sad right now since stylish beat em’ ups/spectacle fighters are a dying genre (and it’s my favorite genre of games), mainly because of casuals who think the games are too boring even though they repeat the same combo over and over again, get a bad rank, then complain about it. Maybe, just maybe, it’s not really the fault of the game, but the fault of the player?

Also, remember IGN’s review of God Hand? 3/10. That’s why we can’t have nice things in this world…

          1. God Hand <3

Also, agreed btw – I'd kill for Vanquish on PC, or even just Vanquish 2, ffs. I mean, I know they don't like making sequels, but COME ON.

  2. What does it means? That for 6 months they will be making new characters stages as DLC? Let see how much support tekken 7 will gey since i dont care at all about dragonball but cant wait to tbeat all of you on tekken 7. No one can beat me! prepare to face the shredderr! Add me on steam for Tekken 7 so i can beat all of you at release day! SHREDDER is my name on steam. Or are you afraid to fight me?

  3. My guess is the pre-orders were low and they canceled some DLC or pushed up the dlc schedule to get it over and done with.

  4. Im surprised that they even had a support period at all. Personally i havent liked a single dbz game since the budokai tenkaichi series so i doubt ill fancy this one much.

  5. play transformers and MGS revengeance , both games have same-y gameplay animation crap

then look at NIER Auto fighting mechanics and animations , all of them feels like i’m playing the same game over and over , not to mention TMTN

    1. Dude, have you actually played the games. Like, trying to master the combat before saying how same-y they are. MGR and Devastation are very different from each other. And have more depth than you think, Devastation especially.

I played and finished both games at the highest difficulty each game had to offer, so I think I can safely say I have some credibility when I make this statement. :3
