Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 – Hits Its $500K Goal One Day Before Ending

I’m a bit ashamed for not informing everyone about the spectacular speedrun marathon that is currently underway. Well, better late than never I guess. Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 is a 7-day online event to raise money for cancer prevention, streamed live for everyone to watch. The team behind it aimed to raise $500K and has just managed to meet that goal.

There have been some spectacular speedruns this far. I personally loved the Doom and Donkey Kong Country speedruns. Yeah, I’ve already seen those speedruns in the past but there is something unique – that cannot be described with words – watching them live.

Right now there is a speedrun for Borderlands 2 and after that you can enjoy Dishonored. Tomorrow is a special day for all N64 fans as there are speedruns for Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and F-Zero X.
