AMD Ryzen 7 1700X – First benchmarks & CPU images leaked online, beats Intel’s 6800K & 5960X

The folks over at XFASTEST have leaked the first images and the first benchmarks for AMD’s Ryzen 7 1700X CPU. According to the results, the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU beats Intel’s 6800K & 5960X CPUs in both the 3DMark Fire Strike Physics Benchmark and the Cinebench tests.

Here is the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU in all its glory.

And here are the Cinebench and 3DMark 3DMark Fire Strike Physics benchmarks.

What’s really interesting here is that the 3DMark Fire Strike Physics results fall in line with what was leaked a week ago. As we can see, the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X is faster than Intel’s 6850K & 5960X CPUs.

It’s rumoured that AMD will release its new CPUs on March 2nd, so stay tuned for more!

      1. I agree that was their objective but it’s a bit on the nose. They should’ve kept it Zen. If, for whatever reason, AMD doesn’t get back on top with this, then their ryzen pun will be just as bad as their previous pun when they failed to bulldoze intel.

  1. I scored 17413 with a 4960x @ 4.8Ghz which has 6c/12ht, that’s eq to 14148 if brought in line with the 1700X at 3.9 Ghz, but with 2 more cores to match it the score would be 18873…
So this architecture is still slower than Ivy Bridge E from 3.5 years ago, well that’s disappointing to me.

        1. A NEW Ryzen 7 1700X will be priced around that. Also your CPU is almost at 5 Ghz dude, come on, the 1700X is clocked one Ghz lower and has a TDP of 95 vs 130 of the 4960x. It will overclock and win hands down.

  2. “faster than Intel’s 6850K & 5960X”

Hugely encouraging news. However, I’d have thought that most people will be looking to how well the 1700X overclocks. Those two Intel CPUs are clocked quite low out of the box but are capable of much higher speeds when overclocked – something I presume most owners choose to do.

Let’s hope that AMD don’t have a repeat of their recently released GPUs with Ryzen, i.e. chips with extremely limited overclocking potential.

  3. I just want a normally priced CPU that will run well with my GTX 1070 card. I want to replace my i5 2500.. i hope they are beating intel on the lower end of things as well, not just the ultra best stuff.

    1. I believe the 6 core/12 threads will take the price/performance cake, the Ryzen 5 1600X. It’ll OC nicely, and have a lower TDP than the 8 core parts I suppose. Best of all: only 260 U$S.

    2. Same exact situation here dude, only I need to replace my 3570k which is is definetely holding my 1070 back. Hopefully, Intel will drop their prices or I’ll have to go full AMD lol

  4. All of this performance is said and good, but I havent found any applications yet that are busting up my 6800k, but once that day comes, I will be happy to upgrade to hopefully a competitive AMD part as it should probably be affordable. But the reality for me right now as someone that owns a 6800k, and isnt using server proggies or serious art work apps, my CPU is perfectly in place for when GAMES come in that can utilize it. I only have one game that proved my CPU was necessary to perform without issue and that is Forza Horizon 3. Runs 5k Ultra no stuttering, and I am notivcing people with 6700k that cant even get 4k working with the same GPU (GTX1080). So, through obvious methods of deduction, there really isnt anything on a large scale force, that requires me to upgrade unless I want benchmark top scores… Good job AMD, bring more cores to the masses with your most excellent performance numbers but MOST importantly, your extremely SWAG price point. Maybe then, developers can have the numbers in place to give us future experiences that utilize my already in place technology, and also give me people to play with at the same experience level. 🙂
