AMD Radeon Adrenalin 18.9.2 improves performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, F1 2018 and more


AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.9.2 driver improves performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Star Control: Origins, F1 2018 and Fortnite. It also fixes some particle corruption issues on some cloud textures in Star Control: Origins.

Going into more details, the AMD Radeon Adrenalin 18.9.2 driver improves performance by up to 3% in F1 2018 on the Radeon RX Vega 64 and by up to 5% in Fortnite on the Radeon RX Vega 64. It also improves performance by up to 4% in Shadow of the Tomb Raider on the Radeon RX Vega 64 and by up to 17% in Star Control: Origins on the Radeon RX Vega 64.

Known Issues

  • Some AMD Ryzen™ Desktop Processors with Radeon™ Vega Graphics system configurations may experience a black screen during installation downgrade to a previous Radeon Software version. A recommended workaround is to perform a clean install during Radeon Software installation.
  • Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products may experience elevated memory clocks during system idle.
  • System configurations with 16+ CPU cores may experience a random system reboot during installation when upgrading Radeon Software from a version older than RSAE 18.8.1. A clean installation is recommended when performing this Radeon Software upgrade.
