Agony, first-person survival horror game powered by Unreal Engine 4, to be released in Q2 2017

PlayWay announced today that Madmind’s Agony will be released in Q2 2017. Agony is a first-person, survival horror set in HELL, in which players begin their journey as a tormented soul within the depths of the abyss without any recollections of their past.

Currently a massively popular project on KickStarter, the game already has more than doubled its target goal and aims to add more torture and pain with further stretch-goals.

Agony promises to offer players the special ability to control people on their path, and even possess simple-minded demons they may come across.

By exploring the hostile environment and interacting with other weary souls of the hellscape within, players will soon understand that there is only one exit from HELL, and it requires meeting the mystical Red Goddess.

Enjoy its intro video and stay tuned for more!

    1. Would have loved to try the game. The setting is unique and certainly disturbing whe it comes to design. Makes a nice change from the typical depiction of Hell.

      1. Agreed, we need moar of those, nasty, gross, puke inducing, gruesome, grotesque, eerie, disturbing and ultimately edgy and quite silly lel. 😀

          1. “Black Friday in NYC”….that’s already covered, it’s called the horror known as The Division 🙂

          2. I did recently buy the survival expansion, and I have enjoyed it so far. The game should have had it from the start since it is much better than the base game.

  1. I absolutely love how they have depicted Hell. It has that feeling of desperation and hopelessness that works like Dante’s Inferno seem to refer to. I really wish there could be a Doom game which would depict Hell in this manner.

    1. Indeed. Heard people involved in the Pizza Gate were asked to describe their perfect family week-end as a source material 🙂

      1. Lol. Btw if you like this style you might enjoy Scorn. It’s also coming out in 2017 and has a lot of similarities. These are two games I’m looking forward to picking up.

    1. Forcing people to play Agony in VR could be used as “enhanced interrogation”. I like the idea of virtual vacations as much as the next person, but not to Hell! lol
