Destiny 2 feature 2

After huge backlash, Bungie unlocks Destiny 2 content that was locked behind the Curse of Osiris DLC

Last week, we informed you about Bungie locking content that was previously available to all players behind the Curse of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2. And after a huge backlash, Bungie decided to correct things.

As the team stated, tomorrow it will release a hotfix that will address this issue. This hotfix will bring The Prestige Leviathan Raid back down to Power 300, and it will some changes to the Trials of The Nine.

Here are the changes that will be featured in this upcoming hotfix:

  • The Prestige Leviathan Raid will be brought back down to Power 300, and its rewards will drop down to match the new Power Level. All players will regain access to the Prestige Raid.
    • This will allow access to “The Prestige” Achievement/Trophy for all players.
    • This will also allow all players ability to complete the final step for the Legend of Acrius Exotic Shotgun.
  • Trials of The Nine will only require Curse of Osiris when it features a Curse of Osiris map. For all other weeks, it will be available to all players.
    • This will allow access to “Lest Ye Be Judged” Achievement/Trophy for all players.
    • Trials of The Nine rewards that launched with Destiny 2 will still be accessible to all players.
    • New Seasonal Rewards that launched with Curse of Osiris, such as the new Seasonal Armor Ornaments, will require ownership of Curse of Osiris to acquire.
  • The Prestige Nightfall will remain a pinnacle activity, at the new 330 Power cap.
    • This means Prestige Nightfall will require ownership of Curse of Osiris.
    • Because of this, we will update “The Prestige” Achievement/Trophy to only reference The Prestige Raid.
    • Moving forward, we are investigating adding a 3rd difficulty to all Prestige activities, so that we can provide both a challenge that stays relevant with each new Expansion, and a Prestige version that is available to all players.
  • Normal Nightfall will only require Curse of Osiris when it features a Curse of Osiris map. For all other weeks it will be available to all players.
  • Time limited events – Iron Banner, Faction Rally, and The Dawning, will be made available to all players.
    • We will be postponing tomorrow’s Faction Rally, to ensure all of our players can access the activity and the appropriate rewards.
    • Iron Banner and Faction Rally rewards that launched with Destiny 2 will still be accessible to all players.
    • New Seasonal Rewards that launch with Curse of Osiris, such as the new Seasonal Armor Ornaments, will require ownership of Curse of Osiris to acquire.

Bungie concluded that these changes will go live tomorrow at the end of scheduled maintenance to deploy Update 1.1.1.1.

  1. Sounds like they only change “For the Players” only after a backlash. Bungie have fallen off big time. The Division hasn’t been all that great either (every enemy is a damn sponge lol)… it suffers the same problems as Destiny.

Anthem is going to be my last try at these types of games. Since it’s lead by BioWare, I know the story/dialogue won’t be bland. All it has to do is do what Destiny should’ve done:
Make me feel like a badass. Random events. Engaging world. Numerous Enemy/Power/Weapon Variations. Loads of WORTHWHILE content that’ll keep me coming back.

And for the love of god an easy way to interact and form groups IN THE GAME lol (no app, website etc).

      1. I bought The Division when it was around $20 (including season pass) and got Destiny 2 for free so I haven’t really been burnt so much (but those who paid $60+ and/or got these games at launch should be pissed).

I’m willing to give things a chance because it’s always possible for things to be better than the last (I’ve learned already that swearing off things after one or two attempts will really make you miss out on some amazing experiences). Hell I’ve been burnt by some women but won’t let past experiences stop my futures ones.

As I’ve been doing for the past few years, I’ll get it on steam and try it out a months after it comes out. If it’s trash I’ll refund it.

        1. I enjoyed Borderlands & Shadow Warrior. Finished both with some friends ( wouldn’t really group them with The Division & Destiny because they’re not MMO-esque if you know what I mean). BL & SW at least has engaging gameplay and loads of variations (where as the other two don’t).

It’s not just bullet sponges though. It’s the entire package. Underwhelming player character. Trash Loot. RNG boxes. Bullet sponges. Barely any Enemy/Power/Weapon/Mission Variations. Sh*tty content/DLC.

BL & SW at least hit some of these marks correctly while the other two fail miserably. S’why I’m hoping Anthem can at least get most of these right.

          1. Did you play all these games solo? I think it makes a world of a difference. For example I found BL to be boring when I first played it alone but I joined two of my other friends and we had a blast.

That’s my main point. I’m not expecting Anthem to hit each mark 100% but at least have some redeeming qualities that separates it from the others.

          2. That’s what I don’t understand. I this old co-op Xbox 360 game is better every in aspect compared to Destiny 2.

          1. There have been NUMEROUS sales of Uplay games for the past couple years (Along with other companies). You just have to find deals. Humble Bundle, CD Keys, Steam, Kinja Deals, Amazon and etc. I check these sites and more on a daily basis.

But I guess it’s much easier to call me a liar. But I stand to gain sooo much about lying about a game purchase lol. I bought Dark Souls III Complete Edition for $30 a couple weeks ago but you probably think that’s bs too.

    1. There’s really no guarantee “the story/dialogue won’t be bland” though….. SJW virtue signaling has become a standing facet in both of BioWare’s other major original IPs (Dragon Age, Mass Effect) so there’s really no guarantee they’re about to suddenly change direction and pull back on that, in the least.

Sure, those were different studios (Inquisition was BioWare Austin, Androgynous was BioWare Montreal), but even so, it’s still EA, as Battlefield 1 most definitely proved, and even if we take the studio’s reputation at face instead of the entire company’s, BioWare Montreal’s last title was Mass Effect 3, which, ending controversy aside, wasn’t exactly up-to-snuff, either.

Not to mention, I’m still waiting on the shoe to drop for Anthem with an unofficial delay of some sort, once they decide to not push it by implementing another progression-bound loot box system, as they undoubtedly intend(ed) to do until the SWBF2017 backslash. I expect they’re waiting to see if they can convince legislators not to classify it as gambling before they actually rip it out of the game itself and force BioWare to remake the progression system, of course, but even so, it’s coming. It’s definitely coming.

      1. Sometimes miracles do happen… will will have to see, just how involved EA will be. One would assume that after Battlefront 2 fiasco, they would take it easy, but I wouldn’t put it passed them destroying another title (and finally putting the nail in Bioware’s coffin… and yes I know, people say it’s been dead a long time, but that is not exactly fair to say, now is it?).

        1. One would also, however, assume that EA would never actually be so stupid as to attempt to pass off a pay-to-win game as anything but, yet here we are, and as reports have it they’re already pressing legislators not to think of loot boxes as gambling, I expect they haven’t given up on their little pay-to-win-with-gambling scheme just yet, even if it does end up costing them their Star Wars license.

          Because, yeah, EA.

A miracle would of course be great (and I do honestly hope that Anthem is a success, if only because it does actually look like an interesting concept, if nothing else), but…. 😐

      2. I read up on the debacle with Andromeda. Truly a shame because the game had potential. Their past titles have definitely varied when it came to story telling and writing but that just means they have talented ppl in need of leadership.

I’m not holding my breath though. Anthem (just like The Division, Destiny) has potential but can easily be screwed up due to loot boxes, lack of content and etc. We’ll just wait and see. No over hyping. It’s all we can do.

  2. “…it’s clear that we’ve made some mistakes…” No Activision/Bungie not a mistake. You know precisely what you did… again: surgically precise, planned-far-in-advance, systemic, and willful predatory theft upon paying consumers to force monetization on an already paid for product – aka STEALING.

Then when companies 180, people buy into the false humility, the continued lying, and don’t realize the company did not admit to what they really did (STEALING) – calling it a “mistake” while they continuously prey on consumers with manipulative patents and further scamming. This is AAA’s pattern.

If any private citizen were caught doing a tiny fraction of what these companies do to us, affected companies unleash their armies of lawyers on them without mercy. We can’t even get refunds without it being a pain.

So tired of the lies and weak products this gen. I need consistency and lots of post release time before buying any game products.

    1. Such business practices will sadly keep on repeating so long as the cancer that is fanboyism persists and the big name gaming sites continue hyping the products of the AAA games industry that pays them so handsomely with advertising money, expenses paid trips and other preferential treatment.

  3. Why are people still playing this train wreck? It’s a mindless loot-fest made by people who are constantly bilking their players. I don’t get it.

  4. At least Destiny fans aren’t putting up with getting screwed this time. Maybe next time don’t buy the game, idiots.

  5. you dont get your soul removed think the light is more like a power system for your armor and abilities and stuff, so without it your just a weak feeble thing. spose it would be more like a Jedi without the force type of thing

    1. Yeah it’s likely you can’t take on the powerful ones but you get it back after like an hour or something. Complete waste of time that was really

  6. To be fair, Andromeda was also made by the B team at Bioware, so that also has something to do with the monumental failure. For me, there is only one reason I keep defending Bioware, despite knowing what it has become (THANKS EA!!!), and that is the past. Their past games are some of my favorite games of all time, which keeps a slither of hope within me that the next game will be their next GREAT game. It will probably never happen, but you never know.

In conclusion, I also hope Anthem is what Bioware promises, and not what EA will most likely turn it into.

P.S: I am not naive enough to believe that it will happen, that Anthem will be the next BIG thing, but hey weirder things have happened, right?

  7. Yes because Andromeda is the only game they’ve ever made! I know full well what went on during it’s development but I l’ve also played their other games and know they’re very capable with the right leadership and direction.

Everything has been wait and see since the start of this gen. I won’t ever touch a game launch.

  8. Yeah I found that part of script was trash lol. The light is just your power source. Losing that makes you weak af but you somehow survive a 80+ story drop straight to the ground.

Yet when you have your powers back, you can’t even survive a 5 story drop to the ground lmao.

  9. Caught for, what is it now, the fourth time? How many more I wonder? 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10? Bungie and Activision are seriously shooting what ever good will they have right in both feet and kneecaps, and it’s hilarious to watch them perpetually f’ up this game completely.

    Lies! IT’S ALL LIES!
