The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered feature

This mod for Oblivion Remastered overhauls hundreds of dialogue lines to feel more like real conversations

Modder chrisgreely1999 has released a cool new mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This mod changes hundreds of lines of dialogue to sound more like real conversations. The original game didn’t have the best dialogue. So, if you thought it was kind of mediocre, this mod might be perfect for you.

This mod is based on the Realistic Player Dialogue Overhaul by Publick Gamer for the original Oblivion game. It makes conversations between the player and NPCs sound more natural. For example, instead of just saying “Rumors,” your character will now say, “Heard any good rumors lately?” This new version adds even more changes to hundreds of lines of dialogue. It improves the base game, the Shivering Isles expansion, Knights of the Nine, and all the official add-ons. Basically, it updates every single one-word player topic in the game to a full sentence.

You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. Do note that you’ll need the original Realistic Player Dialogue Overhaul Mods. You’ll also need NL-Tag Remover. So, make sure to read its installation guide.

Oblivion Remastered was released in April 2025. Sadly, though, it had big problems with stuttering while moving around. Since then, Bethesda hasn’t fixed these issues. They’ve released two major updates, but performance is still the same. Honestly, I don’t think there will be any big improvements. After all, this is Bethesda we’re talking about.

Speaking of Oblivion Remastered, here are some other cool mods for it. There is a mod that adds 43 travelers to the roads of Cyrodiil. This will make the world feel more alive.

In May 2024, we shared a mod that brings a true first-person camera to the game. This mod will immediately remind you of Trespasser. It’s a cool mod, though I can’t classify it as a must-have. So, you can skip it if you are happy with the game’s default first-person camera viewpoint.

There are also mods that bring back the game’s original colors, make lights shine farther, and give female characters their own unique walking and running animations. So, it’s a good idea to check them out.

Let’s also not forget the first 4K Texture Pack for the game. This pack improved the textures of armors, weapons, clothing, and jewelry. To upscale the vanilla textures, its creator used AI tools. As such, the new textures retained the art style of the original ones.

We also have a mod that aims to improve the behavior of all animals. Plus, the creator of the amazing HD Reworked mods for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 has released his first mods. So, make sure to check them out.

Another must-have mod is this one. Ultra Combat UE4SS – Physical Combat Overhaul will significantly improve the game’s combat system. This mod brings to Oblivion Remastered a few modern mechanics like Perfect Dodge, Perfect Guard, and slowmo for headshots. I’ve been playing the game with this mod, and I cannot stress enough how amazing it is. With this mod, all combat encounters feel much better than before. It’s also compatible with the recent Beta Patch 1.2. So, make sure to use it as it can greatly enhance your gaming experience.

Finally, there is a mod that adds over 500+ hand-placed light sources to the Imperial City. We’ve also shared a Witcher-inspired DLC-sized Mod. So, be sure to check them out.

Have fun!
