And the time has finally come. Modders ‘Albert’ and ‘Cris’ have released Version 1.0 of the amazing Resident Evil 4 HD Project. This is a must-have mod for Resident Evil 4, and we highly recommend downloading it.
Resident Evil 4 HD Project is a mod that completely restores the visuals using the original real-world sources. Moreover, it corrects texture mapping and 3D modeling issues, and enhances flat objects to true 3D models.
Alongside the aforementioned graphical improvements, it will also have full HD videos, as well as the original DoF blurring effect from the GC/Wii versions. Additionally, there will be a FOV so you can tweak the camera perspective. Not only that, but the game will now display proper K&M on-screen prompts.

Also, don’t forget to install RE4 Tweaks. The game won’t even boot on many PCs without it.

Definitely worth the wait because it looks glorious in motion! Also, the packaged tweak tool is well designed and its ability to increase FOV (set it to the recommended increase of 20.0), disable v-sync, etc. is very nice indeed.
Will certainly be better than whatever RE4 demake Cuckcom is currently dreaming up.

The whole game is 12.9GB whereas this textures mod is over 37GB! The torrent is currently rather slow to download at ~1.2MB/s.
Of course, since you are using higher def textures, but the file structure is the same. Would be nice to have a installer instead of just replacing a folder, kinda ghetto after so many years in the making.

2nd EDIT: Looks really damn nice. FOV maxed amazing!! Controls are still rough and annoying. I then switched to a controller and still wasn’t feeling it. Uninstalled! Twas a decent 20min experience. But ehhh I didn’t feel like using those controls for 16-20hrs.
If it’s the first time you’re playing the game, the controls do feel alien. But they become second nature soon after the Village section I’d say.
I played the game on gamecube and ps2 back in the day and loved it. Playing it now… I can’t do it.
WElp, the mod focus are the visuals and the potential bugfixes in that area, the game will feel janky regardless. Tank controls, you love them or hate them.
Game is not jank, the controllers are really tight.
Im not a fan of tank controls with this type of camera (it worked really well on the OGs, but that was by design). In 4 it feels forced (considering the game at the beginning was design with fixed cameras like the previous games, the hookman demo), and janky yes.
It certainly gives the game that classic feel and you do have a fair control of your actions, if you compare it with 5 and 6, where the movement becomes more like a generic TPS.
I bought RE4 on PC at release. It looked like a*s and this mod was announced a few days later. waited years and they finally released the village portion of the game. I still had not touched it since pc release. went to try it out and just like you said, the controls sucked so bad. I had the game at launch on gamecube and later on ps2 and the problem with the PC version is that the aiming is on the wrong stick. It feels horrible. I let the mod creators know but they said this was not something they could fix. I am going to look online again to see if i can find a fix. I think steam might have some controller profiles that will work.

How the hell are you guys getting it? There are 3 places to download and all 3 have a goddamn issue. Mediafire says “The user you are downloading from has run out of bandwidth”. Ok so I try mega and it says I need the damn app. Next I try nexus and it says “This mod has been set to hidden”.
im on integrater graphics, this will have to wait, but im very hyped to try it
