In April 2023, we informed you about a total conversion mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind that attempts to turn Bethesda’s game into a space robot shooter RPG. And today, we are happy to report that a demo for this project is available for download.
Robowind Construct is using brand new custom assets and attempts to transform Morrowind into a space robot shooter RPG. The mod is based on OpenMW, so you won’t be able to run it on the original version of Morrowind. However, the good news here is that this is now a standalone game.
For those unaware, OpenMW is a free, open-source, and modern engine that re-implements and extends the 2002 Gamebryo engine for The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind. OpenMW comes with its own editor, called OpenMW-CS, which allows the user to edit or create their own mods or original games. Both OpenMW and OpenMW-CS are written from scratch.

Speaking of Morrowind, you may be also interested in these other mods for it. Morrowind Rebirth is a complete overhaul of Bethesda’s classic RPG that adds countless new details, weapons, armors and much more. You can download its latest version from here. Then we have TES3MP 0.8.1 which adds support for multiplayer and VR. There is also a 4K Texture Pack that overhauls all of the game’s textures. And lastly, Tamriel Rebuilt adds two new expansions and 200 quests to the game.

At the moment, RWC (RoboWindConstruct) is an independent, non-profit project developed by a team of a couple of people, with the active support of OpenMW developers. In fact, this is a demo level of the game in the “Run and Shoot” genre, created and fully powered by the OpenMW 0.49 engine. The level is made in Sci-Fi, and is a corridor shooter, from the first person.
It is recommended to play from the first person. Since not all mechanics work adequately from a third person.

Damn, it looks more a game than Cottonfield.
Even though I love a good gameplay and story before anything else, graphics make a huge part of the experience and, at least for me, this one is unacceptable.
